Every once in a while I come back to this dance to see if I've changed my opinion on it. Unfortunately, I still don't love it. While I agree Abby was very hypocritical when she expressed how she felt about this dance, I felt it was just as bad as some of the other controversial dances from when they were younger. Hear me out, I was a competitive dancer for 15 years, went on to dance professionally, and teach dance as well. I remember being a teenager and wanting to do dances just like this! In fact when I was 17 my teammates and I BEGGED one of our teachers to let us do a heels dance for one of our last classes of the season. Then when I was in my twenties I found the video of that dance and felt nauseous watching it. When a child is given a promiscuous dance, it causes a problem because they don't understand what the costumes and gestures are insinuating, it's up to the teachers and parents to protect the children from doing those things in front of people who watch little girls for sick reasons. At the time this dance was done, the girls ranged between the ages of 14-16 (possibly even 13 depending on the time of year this was filmed). At this point, the girls are older and probably have a general idea of what they are portraying in this dance, which is good and is typically why parents don't seem to care as much. But some of the girls weren't even the legal age of consent. Sexual maturity goes beyond just knowing what a movement or a costume is implying, it comes with personal experience and knowing yourself as a person. These girls know what they're portraying, but did anyone ever ask them if that's how they want to be perceived? If they're okay with the fact that people online and in person will see them at 14-16 years old and be sexualizing them? That other people may get sexual pleasure from what they're doing? Or if they genuinely want to put their bodies on display for the world to see? When I was a teenager I wanted to dance and perform like this, because I got a rush from it. I felt badass and mature because I was doing something that seemed like the pinnacle of adulthood. I can safely say I'm glad I never did this in front of an audience because I didn't really know how far dances like this could go in the eyes of the beholder. Now as an adult, I partake in heels classes because I know what I'm doing to the full extent, I don't post it on social media or even take videos of it because for me, burlesque dancing is something I enjoy, and it still makes me feel badass. But I now know where to draw the line in order to stay within my boundaries. I don't think dances like this are appropriate for young teens because often, they don't have the sexual maturity to know whether or not this is something they are comfortable doing. Maybe some teens do have the maturity to know, but in this case, these girls have spent practically their entire lives on camera being told what to do and when. I have a hard time believing they all would've been comfortable doing this if they knew the risks that come along with it.
i love this dance so much
Nia should have been in front she literally slayed
They were all 14-16 here, this if fucking disgusting
Oh well FANTASTIC was way worse
0:52
I LOVED KENDAL IN THIS DANCEE
En está parte Kendall casi tropieza 1:26
Camryn ate them up
That one kid who waited for it to get quiet and yell “GO CHLOE” that’s a real fan right there
This is Electricity dupe
Electricity was not even bad..
@@Jakaisisksksk it was for how young they were
Nia and Chloe did this dance good, and also the others
Atleast they still flexible 🤓🤫☝️
A kalanie o nose en el minuto 1.26 se tropieza
They would've won if Abby didn't reuse the group number that the og used back in I think season 1 or was it in season 2 they used.
Abby did not choreography this
i didnt even notice kendall slip a little on that pose lol
Honestly this dance wasn’t even that bad people just exaggerated it way too much
They used this sound twice it was used for this and the jail bird one where they got tenth
Chloe’s spacing is so bad
i'm actually disappointed that lifetime cut off half the dance and ended it early. like we want to see the whole dance.
Am I the only one at 1:43 noticed Chloe fell
Abyy tenia raso que asco
1:44 Chloe missed the chair😢
They have more clothes on than celebrities on stage or in music videos
En ningún momento escuché que los hombres les estuvieran silbando a las chicas, solo escuché todo el apoyo hacia ellas, no entiendo a Brynn y Ashley cuando dicen eso en su podcast
They look like they should be in a strip club! Shame on Abbey.
Abby had nothing to do with this dance and was against it.
looking back at this dance years later, this was definitely not appropriate lol...they did great and all, very talented, but it's still weird for their ages here
Idc how old u are..this is not okay any parent with morals wouldn’t have let this happen
Kalani is fine doing this but Kendall…definitely not appropriate 😂
i think this is s8 not s7
S8 had a completely different set of dancers. This was definitely s7
@@DanceMomsMad will but they look older
@@DanceMomsMadand rememeber its irreplacables
Bookie this is s7 not 8 what are you talking about💀
What’s the name of the song?
It definitely wasn’t the greatest choice for a competition but they all killed it!!
They are so brave for doing this dance in front of males I could never😭🤚
Actually the dance was great, i just wish the costumes were more mmm covering 😅
I dont think its that gross because did u see ppls reactions when they did Electricity they were like whooooooowww
I remember when the creepy judge toke photos of them when they had a cute dress not showing to much and what they are wearing now I wonder if the creepy judge is taking photos
1:25 not kendall rolling her whole ankle
1:43 Chloe missed the chairs…. 😂
camryn ATE omg
Note to self. Don’t watch this on the living room tv bc your mom will walk in while your watching the episode and see the dance😭 She was like “How old are they??”
I liked this dance but I don’t think performing it at a competition with so many kids was probably a good idea.
Inappropriate just me?
Kendall did the worst here.
Honestly this dance is really good but not the best appropriate because they where wearing botty shorts with grown men and kids in the audience and kids that look up to them even when I was little I couldn’t watch this episode because it wasn’t appropriate and dance moms was my favorite show and not saying it was a bad dance I’m just saying it’s not the best appropriate one cause there’s kids and grown men and when they did electricity everyone was mad at Abby for letting them do the dance and when the girls do something similar nobody says anything
I love the last dance. If it were any other teenage girls no one would care they would be impressed with how mature their technique is but since it’s girls who people have watched grow up it’s so shocking to them it’s not too old and they looked beautiful
I can see why this got second. They didn’t show the mistakes on the episode. Still really like it though!
Kendal fell out of her pose
Oop Kendall messed up
How old were they?
14-16, Kendall and Camryn were 14, Nia and Chloe were 15, and Kalani was 16
Aww I don’t get what Abby thought was so wrong with Chloe’s eye it’s a little thing that just makes Chloe even prettier
Agree, it makes her so beautiful.
I believe this is called the last dance I searched it and found it
