There's so many variables that change the setup that the best I can honestly say is just practice. Stay extra time at a wedding or set up in your living room to play around with the settings and how to bounce light. Just like a camera and lens the flashes are just a tool and you have to learn to use that tool. I would also invest in good lights, I personally use the v1 and ad200s currently

Yeah, I own probably every canon lens you can think of but I mainly use R6II and R6 with the 50 1.2 35 1.8 and samyang 85 1.4. 70-200 for ceremony

Tbh I haven’t gotten enough requests for that and I just use one preset for every photo

Most of this day I used the 50 1.2 and 35 1.8

I do use a custom preset that changes greens and yellows slightly, but I honestly couldn’t tell you how cause I kinda forgot. I just boost exposure, turn down highlights and blacks

@@benstrailyphotography I saw that you use OFC, that's my favorite way of lighting but I saw it in the background of your reception photos. Do you use another OFC as your key light or onboard bounce flash?

@@LunaBellaPhotos I set two or three on opposite sides of the room but it depends on the venue whether I use just a trigger or a v860 as a trigger. Generally with bigger venues I use the v860 as a key light and the off camera to light up the background or for smaller venues i know I can get away with just 2 ocf or a single on camera to get the look I want

I only really use flashes when I know I've reached the limits of the camera. For example, I know 8000 ISO is fine on the r6 but If the background is extremely back lit then I will need a flash. I try to use it without making it look like it.

Yeah, I was on the 35 and 24 for most this wedding but on the r7 with the 1.6 crop

Honestly it was a bit scary at first but I just push my iso now. I was using the R6 here and there was barely any light at this reception and I was at 6400 or 8000. I just keep my shutter around 1/125 and wide open for aperture (1.4) for slow dancing but I will take out the flash for faster pace dancing where I can go to 1/250 just because I feel like it fits better. This was also my first few weddings pushing my iso so that's why you see me using a flash during the first dance and grand entrance. As for post production I usually don't apply noise reduction but if its really bad and distracting I will add about 20%.

@@EastCoastDigs yeah, way better bokeh so I generally don’t use zoom lenses for situations that I have control over where I can stand.
