The banner and all that text ruined me wanting to sarah your film 😳 I will look for info elsewhere
Thank you for this. I am your fellow Canadian and I’m going to open a Wise account now, start and watch for the rate to go down. It’s really sad right now.
I love Arezzo! I am a dutch woman living in Sardinia, but also love Tuscany and sometimes go there. Would love to get in contact with Sandi, how can I do that?
Is the narrator the guy travelling south of Italy looking for a house? I love his videos…what is his channel? I cannot remember it right now…
Thank you so much for the valuable information
I admire this type of person but it would never be my choice. I love the USA, problems and all. Italy for me is a nice place to visit but I would never leave my country for good.
Excellent video, this information is so helpful for us, thank you very much…don’t worry about your or you’re we all know what you meant, it’s the info that’s important…..Ciao
This title is killing my brain! Should state “why you’re losing money” 🤣 how embarrassing
yes-----you are = you're
Slow down and live life....love italian people....
I genuinely want to know more about the grandfather's story with his granddaughter. While it's cool and wonderful that she gets to experience something many won't in their entire life and the grandfather can financially take care of this on his retirement slush fund, I fear that I get the impression that she's there because something bad happened with the parents in one way or another and want the entire picture there.
6:53 oh look at that, my town
She made lots of sense. Thank you. I think, however, I may have gone past my “Use by” date. 🤭😗😖
Tons of houses for free in Italy…
Thank you so much. Very informative.
Of course, if you have a terrific pension or a stream of retirement income, you can move to anywhere for a better life. Money can buy anything!
All these people are so lovely and real. I’ll come back to watch this again and again for inspiration until I can move to Italy in 5 years
The Italian government should make an incentive for those of Italian blood from across the world to come back to the land their people left. I'm not big on outsiders that have zero connection to the country coming in. Being Italian is in the blood. My family is from Sicily. Even if I were to move to China, I'd never be ethnically Chinese. Without actual Italians, the country of Italy doesn't exist.
Hi Sam. What happens if you have a British passport?
This is a well made video - except not all of us need a visa.
Did you ask the Italians if they want people's form other countries in theyr country???
Rude! Sono sicura che scrivi meglio in italiano. La signora e molto chi parliamo l'italiano.
any country is better when you can earn a lot..but its not going to happen in italy..low wages ,jobs are scares..any call on the utility man will cost you a fortune..you cannot DIY your house outside or the police will stop or give you a penalty..
Info, but not exactly typical. She has visited her whole life and already speaks Italian, plus she has a prestigious and lucrative profession.
From Canada to Italy? It's like moving from a cool spring day to a hot oven summer. Italy might simply be too hot for you. It is too hot for me. I get ill in such temperatures in the summer. So I would have to stay indoors for a few months. Take this into account, when moving to another country: does the climate fit me? Also the older you get, the more temperate a climate might suit you.
Correction? From what I read, and this is new so who knows, there are two scenarios: a) The EU/Italian is already living in Italy, and the non-Eu is moving there. Then the D visa is required. b) Both the EU/Italian and Non-EU are moving together to Italy. Then the D visa is NOT required. Someone confirm please
My wife and I lived in Verona in the early 60’s for 3 years when our dad’s were stationed there in the early 60’s. We have returned over the years and always make it a point to visit Verona and the surrounding area. Like Sandi we always experience the feeling like we are too are coming home. That we too belong are meant to be here and so enjoy the lifestyle and happiness.
Lucky guys. I dream of moving back to Europe, Italy or Scotland.
Yes, beautiful in every regard. But navigating Italian bureaucracy to get anything done would be a shock to most Americans. Moving to any foreign country: remember, you'll always be an outsider.
Dont forget to pay taxes to Uncle Sam.
I am so happy for you guys but so,so jealous!
I feel, Tuscany is completely overrated. The only place nice to live is northern Italy, Alta Badia. But Europe has so many beautiful places. I would choose France.
While I love to hear success stories of folks who have made moves similar to these, I would appreciate getting real information about what it takes to file paperwork and to know if you even qualify for moving. So many countries have entrance requirements and most folks can't just up and move. There is a HUGE financial cost involved and not everyone is a former pharmacist that has a big 401K to draw from. Many European countries have a point/immigration scheme that you must meet or you don't even get your foot in the door. I just wish videos like this were a bit more informative of that part of the relocation process. That said, I am glad she was able to achieve her goal; buona fortuna!!!
Thanks for sharing! Sandi moved to Italy with the Elective Residency Visa. You can learn about the requitements here and see our services as well smartmoveitaly.com/ervassistance . Our founder has a podcast that covers many aspects of the move, we'll link here www.sentiremedia.com/show/anewlifeinitaly/ . Our main FB group also discusses these procedures/experiences facebook.com/groups/howtomovetoitaly
Wonder how much race plays a role on being accepted or not?
What is apostille?? Thanks
Good question. It's a certificate that authenticates the origin/signature of a public document. It's required by many foreign goverments/processes, such as Italian citizenship cases.
@@smartmoveitaly thanks
How do you communicate in Italy, do many people speak English ?
It's most common finding English/bilingual speakers in cities due to tourism. Here's a podcast episode our founder put together that we think you'll enjoy, www.sentiremedia.com/show/anewlifeinitaly/la-dolce-lingua-boosting-confidence-in-your-language-journey/
The lady keeps it real and that's what made the interview so good. I wish her all the happiness and good health.
Thanks, we appreciate it!
And now the housing are getting sky rocket high in Italy too? And the Italians cannot afford a house in their own country? The realtor industry is terrible world wide and extremely unfair for the "normal" income people. These are questions not statement I make here. In Germany it had happened on some Islands and on many other places in the world. .
Love it ❤….
Wow, I wish the process was like that to move to America! Non citizens would have to obtain a place here and have income and apply to live here. We most likely would not have the problems we have now.
Are you implying that the issues you have in the USA are due to immigrati9n?
Thanks for this inspiring interview! It gives me strength and confidence . Will turn 65 this year, have bought a property in Romania. Already made friends, go the the local bar at the “Ursus” our to socialize 😂
Our pleasure! Thanks for sharing and congrats on your new property!
Italy is not only Tuscany . Tuscany is more expensive than a lot of other regions. If you skip classic Tuscany and go to live in the Provincia di Grosseto or in the Provincia di Viterbo in the North of the Lazio region Life is cheaper
We'll be sharing more regions in the future. Thanks for the suggestions 📌
I loved the story of the grandfather and his granddaughter. I wish you two the very best!
I loved visiting Italy but low water pressure, teeny tiny cars and air conditioning that is well, not cold made it a nice vacation destination but not somewhere I would want to live.
This interview could have been 15 minutes
Italian relatives say one can not buy a property in Italy in cash is this true by your experience? If you bought the house through a bank loan what document was needed to show job security.
You have too have money to move to Tuscany . I know peoples that feel in love with Naples and never looked back at America .
Such a beautiful story! Glad you made the move! Welcome! :)
Thank you!
@@smartmoveitaly you're very welcome! :)
We are Australian Aged Pensioners in our 70s and recently investigated retiring to Italy BUT despite having enough to buy a modest home with savings but apparently our Aged Pension is not enough income to satisfy Italy"s income requirement 😿 might have to book two places in a dinghy.
If you have grandparents who are Irish you could apply for an Irish passport and then you would have no problems. Good luck.
Such an amazing story😊
Hello! Can you please tell me what the process would be if you had dual citizenship for US & Mexico ? Would the process be easier if someone were to apply with Mexican citizenship?
Ciao! Without European citizenship, you'll need a visa. Here's a link to our free guide and services smartmoveitaly.com/visa22
