You could just carry an extra camera battery and a portable phone battery charger/booster that extends the life of your phone battery. But I would check that you did not accidently leave wifi on as that will drain a lot more power. I don't know much about Nikons but bluetooth gps tagging on its own shouldn't really use a noticeable amount of power. Someone did a back to back test with bluetooth GPS on/off (with a different camera) and found negligible difference both with camera and phone battery (start at 10.23): watch?v=4DC0U7fMSs0

Is it ever important to use the EVF? I only use my monitor for about 2 years now

I cannot set my shutter to mechanical with my lens 24-120 f4 S. Where as when I put on my 5o mm 1.8 it does allow me to choose mechanical shutter. I have. Z7 ii. Can you help please

If shooting in RAW, does it apply effects on to the file that can be changed/reset in post? or does it not transfer over to the file at all?

its not to clear to me how or when the camera saves the settings for each bank. on my Z6 you save the settings to U1/2/3

This could be done better. The image should get smaller so you notice its not taking up the entire screen. Setting this alert to off by default is not good. I accidentally shot an entire kids dance studio session in crop mode and was so focused on everything else that i didnt think antthing of the tightness of the shots. Its a small studio. Got home and didnt realize it until I saw the resolution of the LR imports. I'm so bitter. An entire shoot at, what, 22px? Luckily I wasnt in crop mode on my Z6 lol

I set peaking highlight to 2 standard, and color to r. But I don’t see peaking hight in nikon z6 with nikon z 105mm macro lens, I am in M mode. Anything else needs to be set in order to get this red color peaking showing up in my screen?

The process of doing this bracketing on my Z7ii and my Z50 with its firmware updates does not work in the same way as described in this video. You must select continuous release after setting the bracketing options and the camera takes as many images as you've selected and stops. It works fine, just not as described for current cameras or updates.

This is interesting to me. I've been shooting mainly jpeg in Fujifilm for a number of reasons. Now I'm getting into shooting my dad's old Nikon D600 alongside my fuji and I want to shoot RAW and jpeg - but continue with my Fuji jpeg workflow for most purposes. The first thing that occurs to me wathching this is that - short of the real extreme like the dim inside of a cathedral vs. its stained glass windows, there's not much need for HDR. The dynamic range of cameras for a long time means that that information is all available in a single shot to create jpeg. So, apart from being a faff (especially with having to set up the wide exposure differences), you also have the danger of introducing ghosting presumably if you have any moving elements in the frame between the two images. So for me, D-lighting provides all the potential I need in the jpeg for it to act as a poor-man's RAW for editing on mobile, without the drawbacks of HDR. Except of course for those huge extremes of contrast I mentioned where HDR could provide you with a good working jpeg on the spot.

Best multiple exposure video I’ve found yet

You got it covered in 2 minutes, it took me a year after struggling to get my Z6 2 and Z7 2 to match my Leica M10 & M10R. The Leicas always did what I expect, perfect color, and they have minimal controls. I settled on 5400 k for landscape. The issue with Nikon is the photos have a distinct green cast and look saturated even with the neutral picture control. I learned to to adjust magenta to -1. Now raw looks acceptable, but still looks a little flat compared to M10 raw. Current lenses are used on both. So I adapted the Leica lenses to Nikon and they still have more "punch" than Z50 1.8. There is a pic control to fine tune contrast and clarity. Try +1 on both for z lenses only and now things match perfectly. Remains to be seen if the last two settings will carry over to Adobe Camera raw. I will make a preset if necessary.

Maybe it’s just me, but the first time I noticed any difference was the indoor, harsh light shots. And that was not even close to being enough to compensate going from LR to NX Studio.

I kind of have the same story. I actually got this camera when I was 13 years old. I learned alot on it, but at that time we didn't have youtube so I do know alot more know. Some girl friend, can't remember who told me to through it away because I should save junk, so I did. Wich I regret... But today I bought the same camera on net. In the 70s Japan made good stuff. I could buy any camera, but this modell is actually good looking with it's crome top and design. Guess I get it in the post next week.

Great video, question for you, where are the Banks stored? Another video on youtube, stated that its only stored in the SD card, so if you take the sd card, it looses the Banks? Is this true?
