Man I wish there were more shows like Aeon Flux, such a unique and mature artstyle too compared to the dozens of family guy clones in the adult animation genre.

Even though I personally don’t really like George Carlin’s narration since I grew up with the uk Michael Angelis version, I love this episode even as a kid. It gives me a calming and warm feeling especially with the music. Interesting fact, but Reverend Wilbert Awdry the creator and author of the Railway Series books the show is based off, hated this episode. He says an engine wouldn’t have any interest in scenery and it breaks a railway rule of stopping a locomotive without giving permission from the signalman.

This episode is so soothing.

The DVD set has replacement dialogue in some episodes, that isn't as good as the original versions. The cassette version of the series is, literally, the only way to watch the series as it was originally aired.

As in Flux is so difficult to watch online, it's even blurred in exploratory videos about it. So... who owns it now? Why are they so protective of it? Why is buying the cassette or CD versions the ONLY way to view all episodes? Love this show SO much, Peter Chung was never again able to match it in terms of dynamic animation and poetic dialogue. Truly groundbreaking, completely unique and utterly amazing... So why is the Mona Lisa locked in a vault, rather than on display at the Louvre?

You know I sure wish that sony pictures animation will give genndy tartakovsky a chance to make the popeye movie and for the character of popeye he olive oyl,and the jeep go on an adventure to find his pappy and the sea hag would have bluto along for the ride and bluto would also join some of the men to board popeye's ship and popeye is trying to save olive oyl's life and hopefully I know everything will be alright

When MTV was strictly music and weird shows. The good old days!!!

Another thing is this, when people say you’re weird, they act like being weird is bad. There is good weird and there’s bad weird but people make it look like weird is bad all the time. When people do that, then you tend to think that maybe there’s something wrong with you when there’s not a thing wrong, just be your self. I don’t understand why people don’t like it when you’re you, don’t be something you’re not, just be you. It seems like people are never satisfied these days.

Somebody always find something wrong with something somewhere if it’s not one thing, it’s something else. That’s what bullies do, they find something wrong even if there’s nothing wrong at all. I’ll never understand why some people are like that.o

My favorite was the episode featuring a woman with beautiful, strong athletic legs. She eventually got caught up in the security net and the robots cut her legs off.

I really want to enjoy this show since it has such a cool atmosphere and aesthetic but I also have no idea what's going on!

Tiktok just brought this memory back for me, been trying to remember what this was called for years. I completely forgot about liquid TV. we don't have mtv here but it was on SBS here, usually after 11pm. I'd always pray aeon flux would show. 90s memories...

Watched (and downloaded) the movie, as an old Popeye fan I enjoyed it despite some of the strange choices with the character. Genndy is always a treasure. Definitely agree it could have used a rewrite.

Pain

FYI, it wasn't the Emoji Movie that killed Popeye, or at least the iteration the test animation represents. Genndy himself stated that it was the Sony hack from 2014 (which is where the emails you've read originated from) and the subsequent management revamp (both Amy Pascal and then-SPA head Bob Osher being ousted) that did the movie in. The Emoji Movie was greenlit at Sony a few months after Genndy left Popeye. Interestingly, it looks like Sony did try and make the movie without Genndy for a while, as they hired a new writer back in early 2016. That was the last concrete development we ever got on the movie, so it's pretty safe to declare it dead at this point. I'll always wonder where Sony as a studio would be if that hack never happened. Would this movie have been made? Would the weird Spider-Man shared universe that they were plotting have happened? Would said Marvel icon have made it to the MCU at all? We'll never know.

I tried like heII to catch as many different episodes of Aeon Flux as I could as a kid. You know how crappy some of the Liquid Televisions are? Some cartoons are gold, like Aeon Flux or Beavis and Butthead, but many others are absolutely terrible. Everytime I'd catch Aeon Flux, it was an episode I had already seen. So it wasn't until last year when I paid like $10 and got the entire collection of Aeon Flux on DVD I was able to finally watch ALL the Aeon Flux animations!!! Totally worth it.
