This isn't an official Wailin' Jennys or Catie Curtis page, but I'm a good friend of the bands who's had permission to film and share a number of those shows...along with some other favorites and personal videos. Please forgive the quality of older stuff...but the sound usually is what it's all about anyway! Oh...and sometimes I actually try to include a bit of sailing video too! ;)

Today the Pootie Pad order arrived from Sara R., quilter extraordinaire of Daily Kos fame. Decided to just throw together a quick little video that shows their expression of thanks! As you might guess, these Pootie Pads have organic catnip sewn right in! If you're interested, you can get one yourself at pootiepad.com. I used my friend, Marjorie Richards, song about her cat "Hoo Doo".

Sweet.... beautiful voices singing a classic...!
Wailin' Jennys version is best. Then you'd miss the beauty of the light upon this earth, and the sweetness of leaving. 🌅💙
My favorite song of theirs
Better than Neil, these ladies are tight
This song is so crazy sad to me for some reason even though i think it’s supposed to be uplifting.
Insanely good.
What a talented bunch of musicians! I most admire covers that change something about the original song, and The Wailin' Jennys really made Wildflowers their own. 😀 I also play music (mostly collab with Mark Erelli) on my channel and it's awesome to find other musicians out there giving it their all. Keep up the great posts. I have subscribed to your channel now
Amazon Prime "The English" Episode 6 brought me here...
I just heard this song on the new series, English. So hauntingly beautiful.
Same here, the series The English brought me here. This song pierced through my soul. I shazamed it quickly to see who sung it. Never heard of these ladies before, but now im a BIG fan of theirs. There is a 90 minute loop of this song on youtube. Its now my lullabye.
Just rewatched The English, fantastic series and some great music including this song, Into Dust (Mazzy Star) and Crucify your Mind (Rodriguez).
me, too.
This was posted 14 years ago? 😮 no way. They played it last night like it was fresh baked. Amazing.
👻🎈🤡🍀
Beautiful. This Canadian group doesn't get enough publicity.
💜🌻🌹☘️
Big credit to Leadbelly. Eveybody else's version comes from there
Unbelievably beautiful
Now its a living Chickadee 😛
This song is not meant for sadness.. when you play this at a funeral (we in the flesh) will of course be sadden by someone we love & use this song as grief ..BUT! This song is a song for celebration.. for the souls who are now not suffering on this side. we should celebrate this song as an AWAKENING- a rest assurance that we as gods children WILL NOT be in the flesh, of the world forever- our flesh will stay on land, but our soul.. our souls will be alive & at peace & exchange with friends above⭐️💫
these ladies....they have to be some of the most amazing voices to walk the earth.
Phantastisch
I think this is my favorite Jennys song.
I love it.
❤
Perfect.
I want this sung at my funeral.
I've never understood how someone can give a thumbs down to something like this.....
Bass singers call across the way.
“I’m sure this is what angels sound like.” - my Dad after listening to this for the first time.
это настолько душераздирающе, что слезы сами непроизвольно выходят...
The nine people who 👎🏼 the video are tone deaf and hate music.
was just telling a friend about this song - thought to pull it up on youtube for her - and OMG! I WAS HERE! This is from the first time I saw them! 2nd row - they played this - I cried and I've been a huge fan every since! love them!!
Don't you hate when someone shows up in the crowd sounding like he should be in an Iron Lung machine!
very beautiful
Pretty damn good
Songs take on a life of their own. Another atist paints a different picture by looking at the same thing.
I first heard this haunting version of the song at a small winery in Sonoma and instantly fell in love. Such beautiful voices and harmonics. Looking forward to more beautiful music from these ladies 💕
So many years ago, i am just picking this up now
One of the most emotional concerts ive ever seen..just something about the music.. Cheers!!!..
Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys.
They even make taking a breathe artful. Awe.
fantastische song
www.thewailinjennys.com/ Lyrics: I have come back to you broken Take me home And my body bears this trouble Take me home Take me back to my beginning Before the hell of night set in And I came to this border Take me home I have toured the endless starlight Take me home I have shattered under midnight Take me home There are no vultures in this clearing Except the ones who brought me here And I'll no longer feed them Take me home Kingdom come, their will was done And now the earth is far away From any kind of heaven Hallowed be these frozen fields And every single one of us Still left in want of mercy Take us home Now the bells stand still and hollow Take me home And no one has come to mourn me Take me home Find me where I close my eyes Beneath this sky of power lines And let me see us clearly Take me home Kingdom come, their will was done And now the earth is far away From any kind of heaven Hallowed be these frozen fields And every single one of us Still left in want of mercy Take us home

I just really love this song
I learned of this song as a little kid in the early sixties from my parents’ Harry Belefonte album. This is my second favorite rendition. Just lovely.
I became a fan of theirs after seeing them live at an outdoor summer performance of A Prairie Home Companion years ago. Their harmonies blew me away, it was absolutely gorgeous.
Every bit of such truth-telling and riveting music is precious medicine in the bloodstream of our violence ridden collective humanity. Thank you so much for posting this.
When my baby daughter didn't want to sleep, crying in the evening, I sat down in a rocking chair, laid her down on my breast, and played a 'Harvest' vinyl. When in near future my grandchild's on a visit and will not fall asleep, I'll try to play a '40 days' CD instead. Babys recognize good music intuitively and start feeling comfortable. Great voices, greatest harmony, hell of a cover.
Wow, amazing
If by a miracle I make it to Heaven I would want their Angelic voices singing this song on my arrival!!!
They truly are angels
