Can you get hold of these tontes notes(paper) and if so where from??
Uauuuu
Can't hear you
Were those apples ever washed or rinsed or cleaned before being pressed?
i used to pick wind fall pears to make perry.. My fave was to mix the pear with some freshly picked black berries... OMG YUMMY
Where did you buy the air locks from? Thanks
Its a 3 Piece Airlock. you can order it online from most countries. Just Google "3 Piece Airlock" and include your region.
Sadly they normally don't come with the "bung" and you'll have to specify the size of the aperture on your fermentation vessel and find that yourself.
What a beautiful video...this is proper Cider/Perry..... This is how I have seen it done in the past in the UK, building block after block or cheese...would like to drop by....
Great stuff.
What is it at 5:14?
Not very good explanasion.
It's always good to know what the ppl ate in yrs past. If things got real sparse, we could still have food with knowing these lessons. Loved it.
I can ask for some information?
this is quite a dismal documentary. Maybe its a great idea, humanity will feck it up.
If you are going to shake the tree to get the apples, lay out some cheap tarpaulins first, much easier to gather the corners, roll it all into one and tip into a tray/ tub/ basket, than fiddle around picking it all one apple up at a time. Especially good in wild orchards with nettles, or cow pats etc.
Every time someone utters the phrase "pear cider"i die a little inside. I wish i could just pop down to the local shop and buy some real perry , but its very uncommon , especially in the north.
Try looking for it in Scotland! I'm presuming you're from the UK too because you said "the north".
You starts out by bragging about picking the fruit then show people picking it off the ground. Now in my experience fruit that has been on the ground has been contaminated by any number of creatures. To me picking entails getting up in the tree and picking the fruit before it hits the ground. Am I mistaken?
Alcohol will kill any nasties. When the fruit has fallen naturally, it is at it's most ripe, but beware of overly brown (rotting) fruit, don't use that. Don't worry too much. Before I put mine in the scratter, I use the hose pipe to fill a big bin with apples and water, any spiders or earwigs soon rise to the top, and as I load my scratter, I give the apples a swish. Fermentation really takes care of anything you worry about.
<3 :D
is sulfite used or fining agent ?
Nothing like good cider to make your smile grow wider!
I bet it smells good inside that place.
:)
Thats the spice of life write there my son its a gift from god no forgiveness needed.
Very nice video. What impressed me most is Mr. Oliver manually pressing down on the cakes so they fit exactly underneath the press. Not an inch left. That's Skill with a capital S.
read some bastiat or mises u clowns
thats bs. capitalism has built sky scrapers, paved the way for medical and technological breakthroughs, and put men on the moon. that video demonizes increased wages, increased standards of living, and creativity. without the american economic system, there would be no wright brothers, no steve jobs, no andy warhol, and millions more. capitalism isnt perfect, but its the most efficient, prosperous, and moral system their is
استغفر الله
The Totnes pound is a fantastic idea full stop - the idea is to generate a local currency so that a town can be self-sufficient and not be buggered in the arse by the governments taxes - every small town in England should start doing this. Unfortunately for this poor girl shes managed to stumble upon a diverse eclectic of grumpy, self-righteous dip-shits who wouldn't know a positive, worth while scheme if it sat on their stupid, ignorant faces and wiggled!
I made a currency called the trounce backed by silver
Such an inspiring film!
Why not feed democratic localization to starve corporate globalization. Starve the beast, feed the feast.
I'd say socialism more so than communism.
This is bordering on communism.
I wish our economists and policy leaders would watch films like this. We do not have the resources to continue business as usual much longer environmentally and we soon are going to have to make tough decisions about how to preserve a quality of life without endless growth or corporate profits at all costs.
Totnes-Committing treason time and time again since the 13th century AD
thats at our school, on our percussion kit ha
This is a fantastic documentary film. Damn globalisation!
Ole!!! Que guapos!! Tomas que tomas!
@shakealeg1990 You literally know nothing about money. Google 'fractional reserve currency' to see the fraudulent nature of today's currencies. It's legal fraud. They create new money out of thin air, electronically; they create the principal of the loan but not the interest you pay on the loan, meaning it's a big ponzi scheme. /watch?v=mIIAvdJvCes
At least a part of this nice movie seems to have been posted on Southeast Asian channel of cheepajornloke under the title MongraoMonglok - Economics of Happiness 1/3.mp4 The movie starts from around 3:50 minutes in that first clip and goes on through part 2 and 3. Enjoy watching and sharing! The ideas in this easily understandable movie do remind me of the principles of Samaj and economic democracy, etc. as expounded in PROgressive Utilisation Theory (PROUT) by P.R. Sarkar, indeed...
That looks really average. Not because I don't like the idea of examining the problems of our current cultural and economic models, but this doesn't seem to provide anything new. It looks like an analysis that I have been seeing constantly, over and over - and gives us the same good but very basic answers again and again. I know of a philosopher who has really incredibly deep and powerful answers. His name is P. R. Sarkar and he gave an amazing economic model called PROUT. Check it out!
Great! so look forward to seeing the movie
highly skilled picker upers only collect the fruit. lol. what college can i go to get into that job?! lol
nothin like a lawnmower to add extra zen !!
typical of totnes to go against progress in this way
Awesome!!!
Makes me feel thirsty....
Lovely to see another video of Doris 2008 - thank you. Can't wait, can't wait until August 10th !!!
Man!! I wish I could get some of this here in the States!!!! Only one or two places still make cider like this here these days. :(
