Catalytic convertor on that bank that's misfiring
I will save this video in case I do decide to fix my Acadia. When I’m no longer broke lmao
I clicked on the link for the spark plugs. It says that they fit 2011 Acadia but not the Buick enclave. That doesn't seem possible?
Man , you are good! I think I’m going to bring my Touareg TDI, to you so you can work on it🤣
Heya Bryan, I've been having issues with my '84 VF 500 F Interceptor, everything is pretty damn clean, did an oil change, removed the old petrol, put a gasket on the fuel valve as it was leaking, getting fuel into the carbs, got good spark and air, but it just wont start, but works fine when pouring a little through the air inlet, i have the jets sitting in a carb cleaner bath and hope that will fix the issue, should it not work though, do you have any suggestions? My bike has been converted to gravity fed as the fuel pump doesnt seem to be getting any power, tested the pump as is and it works, if that could cause a problem, please let me know, i'd be glad to hear from you!
Update: It runs on petrol now, had the nozzles in the carb cleaner bath for a day, put it all back together and it runs again, but it appears to have a vacuum leak or something as the revs jump to 3k for a bit, then settle back down to 1,5k. So, from the Motor block and up everything needs replacing/rebuilding.
I had to replace the boots between the carbs and heads as they were rock hard after 30 years. If you havent akready done this, find where the idle mix screws are, and if not already done drill out the little metal plugs that covers and remove the covers. This will give access to the idle mix screws taht will need to be reomeved and clean behind them. This helped the idle on mime.
@@bryansprojects3570 I figured the boots might need replacing, they are solid on mine as well considering they are now 40 years old. I'll have to look more into the workings of carbs to find all the parts that need replacing and cleaning. Where might these metal plugs be? I saw one in each float bowl just behind the nozzles, is that what i should be looking for?
@@apollogenerator9837 it looks like a small flat freeze plug, about the size of a pencil eraser, if I remember correctly. The idle mix screws is behind it. I may do a video soon synchronizing the carbs and will show it then. Good luck!
I will look out for that and see what I can do, thanks for the advice, it'd be awesome to get this bike running properly. I'd love to see that video if you ever get round to making it for sure!
The instructions are crap....best go to Halls website they are clearer there but still not the best.
vapor locked up
I just acquired my 1992 Cabriolet and I also need to replace the top, Insulation, and liner. Where did you purchase the top?
I think this is where I got, but shop around. gahh.com/volkswagen-1980-1981-golf-rabbit-headliner-vinyl-35-vw-white
Where's part 3???

You should really wear gloves man, take care of yourself!
wow. good work. I did not expect this to be done while the engine in the car.
My 425 4x4 did the same no start after the carburetor clean and I used the pull start with key on about 3 times and then hit the electric start and it started right.
I just did this last week, new reman alternator worked for three days then stopped charging the new battery and now shows a service charging system error on the dashboard. Can’t figure it out
It may be the body control module?
thank you for this tutorial. it helped me a great deal
Beautiful job Bryan. The jack of all trades. Your incredible Bryan. You don't seem to be intimidated by any project. My hats off to you sir. Thanks for taking your time in showing the majority of us that we might be able to do this, but for most people probably not. That's why we pay these exorbitant sky rocketing prices. In today's world you can barely afford to buy or maintain things unless you have some ability to repair things yourself. Have a great day! Cheers!! Illinois
Frame size has nothing to do with shaft size
The frame size of the motor will dictate the shaft size. A 56 or 56C frame motor is going to have a 5/8" shaft size.
This.video.was.awful. I don't know what you did
You've taken meticulous care of that bike. That engine is spotless inside.
Thank you for your video Bryan, it helped me disassemble my Husky air compressor. II had a leak in the hose from the tank to the manifold. The hose had a hole, so I fixed it with metal tape and Gorilla tape on top with a hose clamp over the area with the hole. Worked perfect! Easier than taking the hose off, and I think it will hold for what I use it for. Thanks again!
Glad it helped. I figured that there are at least soem people out there with one of these that dont want to throw it out. Thanks for watching!
Copper rods or any rods works?
Any metal rod should work A steel coat hanger will work if you can get it straight enough.
Someone to help you would have been nice.
I can get soem help when needed. I know a lot of people do this by themselves so I show it that way ehn I can. Thanks for watching!
🙋♂️
Nice video, don't own one of those, but had a couple of Beetle's, that were surprisingly good cars if not rusted too bad where heater ducts are. 👍✌️
Thanks for the video man. My car recently started leaking from the bottom ports on the flange. What really happened = was cruising down the highway at 60-75 km/h and a stone hit the first car then hit my car and went under. Ever since, the coolant reservoir/bottle has been found leaking from the top rubber pipe on the reservoir. Doesn’t seem cracked though, neither do the flanges on the side of the engine (same flange in the video) but it seems it’s leaking on the reservoir as well as both the bottom pipes on the flange. From both the in and out on the flange and leaking onto the transmission or the mounting point of the transmission + engine. I’m guessing some pressure build up that’s forcing water out. But I top up every few days, and keep driving it slow. After the stone had hit prior to all these faults, the damage was the front (mainly the AC condenser, Intercooler and maybe radiator) - can a broken radiator cause this? But radiator don’t seem to be leaking. Maybe the compression of the radiator upon impact forced liquid out and now there’s a passage? Or maybe some seal broke? Don’t know. Still prepping myself to send it in for a check up.
This is pretty much just like a 356 head right? I am about to do this to my heads and like the valve compressor tool you made with the big clamp. I did this to a vw head but when i tried to compress the springs on the 356 head it seemed harder than the vw spring. Are they tighter or was i doing something wrong? I was using the first tool you showed on the valves in the middle and they felt so tight. I even tried using the larger valve spring compressing tool that looks like a little swing set without the swings lol but with a lever, and they were still hard to compress.
It should be the same as a 356 head. I would think that the valve springs would definatley be stiffer than on a beetle.
@@bryansprojects3570 thanks!!
I'm curious about the little raised ridge area on the side of the crankshaft of your engine (you can see it at 9:34). I have a very similar model of pressure washer (020344) and the crankshaft doesn't have the little raised ridge coming out of the side of it, instead, there's a little groove there. So I'm not getting much pressure at all… But when I look up that crankshaft part online, it looks like there's a groove, not a raised ridge. So I'm not sure if there's a little metal piece that supposed to sit in the groove that's missing, or if I'm missing something else? Hope that's understandable. Anyone have any ideas?
Sorry I have no idea on this one.
How did you get to the connectors?
I think I took the part loose and then unhooked the connectors. This was my first video ever.
Good on ya for having that.. I’ve spent half a day driving to auto stores to find someone with a similar tool. Not to mention, how do you remove the plastic harness release after snapping it
is it the same thing as A Chevy Traverse Lt AWD my car has nothing at all no crank no start at all i have been watching videos saying it is my starter.
It should be pretty similar.
Great video👍
Very nice work Bryan from Alliance Alberta Canada
If you pulled that thing I guess I can stop worrying about possibly purchasing a 21-foot TT. I was going to be safe and go with the 18' version. What was the total weight of that trailer you were pulling?
I think the trailer was around 4500 lbs. It pulled and stopped great.
@@bryansprojects3570 what was the length? it looks a lot more than 4500 lbs
@yourgooglemeister6745 it was like 32 feet or so. It was considered a lightweight model. It may have weighed more than that but the Toaureg didn't really care.
funnels are a thing
Throw bearing on wrong
Why do you say that? When he was demonstrating the bearing on the input shaft it looked like the bearing was correct. If he is correct and the flywheel is thinner then that would explain the difference in adjustment. I have a '65 and I installed an aftermarket clutch rod with heim joints at each end. This might increase your adjustment range. I think I bought it from Corvette Central.
That motor looks ready for a refresh.
You forgot to add locktite. Also replace the rear ones.
That's not always easy...sway bar in the way
forgot about the base o washer thanks again
I may not have shown them in this shot but I didi get them in there.
May God Bless you. Thank you Sir.
Think I’m going to have to do that. I have a 60’ Chevy Apache . Just switched the ignition like you, but now it’s not starting . It also stays on so I have to disconnect the battery every time I drive it
I ended up replacing the starter eventually also.
Where did you get the part? Can fucking find it anywhere
I got it at a local parts store. I can't remember which one.
Hi Bryan, like the channel. I need to do the exact repair. I was wondering why you didn't use the pocket screw jig on the first brace too, rather the notching?
I wanted to give it a little extra support and keep it straight.
Hey man thanks for the inspiration! I have zero experience with carpentry/construction I’m 22 and bought my first house and the garage walls are pretty rotted, gonna give it a go!
How do you take paint off a car
The best way is probably to sand it.
Thanks Bryan for your time. Cheers!! Illinois
Like we all have a machine shop in our garage to do that. Cmon.
I will be doing some of this really soon on the house my wife inherited.
11:38 I thought that valve was at the oil filler
Really should have checked valve lash also before fine tuning the carb and running conditions and timing, valve lash changes timing but great video ❤
I always put a block off for fuel pump and run a 12v electric fuel pump
Great video ❤
