Your boat looks to be in excellent condition. Did you restore it yourself? I would love to see photos of the outside. I just bought one, but it needs a ton of work. Not alot online out their about these boats. I'd appreciate any info you could provide. Thanks.
The previous owner rebuilt it, then got sick and it sat for several yrs, his wife had to sell it after he came down with dementia, everything is new except mast and sails, when I got it nothing was on it, so I had to figure everything out, shoot me your email and I’ll send ya some pics and if you need close ups of anything let me know good luck
I'm going to look at one of these for sale today. Looks like a very forgiving boat for a beginning sailor like me. My gf and i are very excited at the idea of being able to do overnights on it in the little cuddy cabin.
It is very forgiving, and once sailing down wind, when I went to tack and go back up wind a gust hit me in the middle of the tack, I let the boom all the way out, the boat took in water over the sides, but didn’t turn over, I read where someone had one as a teenager and tried to flip it but couldn’t, if your near middle TN this one is going up for sale as I’ve already bought a bigger boat, everything on it is new except the sails, good luck
@@Huntgary I am not anywhere near TN but the last one I looked at was ready for the dump not the water (stringers were mush). I read the same story, happy to hear it twice! How much are you asking?
@@northcoaster76 $1200 with an original tilting trailer in perfect condition with rollers and bunks that's been repainted with new tires and wheels
I can't tell from this angle but is this boat connected to the design of George McVay called a 16ft. Falcon? ( Built out of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia)?
Not sure, it was manufactured by the American Fiberglass Corp., model is America 16, the designer is just listed as the co.
Seeing this makes me so happy!!! Thank you!!!
Who puts a handrail directly over a light switch?
Handrails have to be set at a certain height, so no choice, the ? is why did the electrician put the switch in the wrong place, I've seen this before
@@Huntgary I meant, move the switch.
@@tdtommy196 Easier said than done, too raise it you have to remove the dry wall below it, go under the house and splice into the wire by installing a junction box, then install the new switch repair the drywall and paint the wall, way to much money for something as insignificant as this, lowering it would be worse than what they have now, I do what the customer ask, the way it is now is not a big deal, easy to reach,

Thanks for posting this video. I had the same problem with my 2007 950 SMR last week. The oil light never came on, but I had a LOT of oil coming out the rear of the sensor at higher RPMs. 17,000 miles on my bike. Your video helps me a lot.

Dont remember, I bought the plate used, and have since sold the bike sorry

I lay my bike on it's side when doing a clutch inspection and or replacement.
That's a gs 1150 ...
I think it's an 1150GS Adventure
you knew how deep it was so why go through on the BM
Handrail brackets MUST go in the studs, not crappy weak drywall. If you lose your balance and grab the handrail, it could easily rip out of the sheet-rock and you could end up with a broken back. But NOT if it's in the studs.
Electrician forgot to account for the handrail when he mounted his box. derp
Handrail was installed after the light switch, derp.

Thanks for sharing, how many miles are on your bike that the sending unit failed?

I just fixed my loose handrailing myself. Thank you very much for this video!
Is that the original clutch plates.?
yes
The last steel plate will have a groove in it from the Belvis washer Flip the steel plate upside down or exchange it with another steel plate from the stack and that should help the “grabbyness”
Cheers! I noticed the cut out groove and put it back the same way as I thought it should be. I'll switch it around with another one. Thanks a lot!

The GS would have made it but he just wasn't going at it hard enough
Is this a common fault? I think mine has just gone too...
Hello Gary, My oil light has started to flicker and I'm thinking to start solving this issue by replacing the pressure switch. The problem is that I can't find it anywhere online so far, I would really appreciate it to know where you found yours. (mine is an 04' KTM950 adventure)
I live in the US, I had to order it through KTM world in Georgia, they are the largest KTM distributor in the US and they don't stock the part, if your list is starting to come on check your oil filter, if the creases are wavy then your water pump is leaking into your oil, it causes the filter to swell and restricts the flow of oil, if the pressure switch is not leaking then that is probably not the problem, hope this helps, good luck
You didn't show how to repair you just tighten up screws
That was all that was necessary on this one, I was hoping it would need more so I could show more, sometimes the fix is easy, I wasn't going to make it worse just to show more, and there is no way to show every possible fix
@@Huntgary that was a easy fix, thanks I have a problem where it's broken from the drywall
@@derwingholston2550 If the drywall is busted you may have to remove a larger piece of the drywall and patch it, then reinstall, the secret and hard part is getting all the screws in the wood stud, if you have to replace a piece of the drywalll then scab another piece of wood beside the stud to give you more to attach to, if there is no stud there, cut out a small hole in the drywall where the mount attaches, just large enough to insert a small board behind the drywall to reattach the mount to, talking probably a 6" square hole, then you can attach the small patch to this board as well as the mount, hope this helps
@@Huntgary I will try that and let you know how it turns out really appreciate your knowledge
@@Huntgary How about patching drywall with Durabond (the heavy one not the easy-sand one) and then using an anchor?
So what was the problem with the clutch?
Everything was good
@@Huntgary what symptoms were you experiencing? Thanks, Russ
@@MyRp123 didn't have any problems, just keep seeing post about people afraid to get into the clutch cover not knowing what was inside, so I thought I would do a video showing it, I had taking the clutch apart on my 450 before so I knew it wouldn't be much different, plus I wanted to check the wear
Gary Hunt, thank you for the video very informative.
Thank you I find your video.
So, did you find anything wrong?
No, everything was fine
Im about to do this job on a 950. While Im waiting for a new switch on order, Im curious, when you filled the hole, the switch no longer worked, correct?
Sorry for the late response, I was out of internet range for most of last yr and just saw this, correct the switch will not work if you plug it
Hehe same happened to me some months ago... Lucky I had taken some epoxy and duct tape, I made my way to home dripping oil all way long. But I see even you had a different skid plate, it didn't help very much at the end
