Well comparisons to Tombstone are inevitable. Whereas there's lots of interesting faces in this version, whoever edited this gunfight bungled it. Wrong angles, wrong pacing. There's barely a tenth of the tension of the Kurt Russell version.

Tombstone. Great for one liners. In fact one liners that I bet at one time was written on back window every redneck truck in America “I’m your huckleberry “lol. I’m sorry that line sounded just gay lol. Before anyone gets offended I didn’t mean fag gay. Tombstone is just a great popcorn movie. Wyatt Earp is an epic film. I dig tombstone for what it is. But I think Kevin is the best Wyatt we have seen. And doc holiday…Val Kilmer is a tremendous actor. But his version is more cartoon than realistic. Dennis I say was fucking great. I know I’ll get hate for this. It’s social media I’ll live.

Only reason i prefer this movie over tombstone is because of that church scene at the start of tombstone. Cut that out and itd be better even in portraying the bad guys as more morally complex than the wyatt earp film does.

This movie was weak! It was released not long after Tombstone, which was a hard act to follow. Don’t mess with perfection!

Dennis Quaid really tried his best to top Val Kilmer as "Doc Holliday." But nah. Kilmer killed that role, just like Ledger as the Joker.

Read that Kevin Costner originally intended this movie to be a 6 episodes tv series but he was much too ahead of his time & the studios rejected it. It would have been an amazing series had it been done today. And they would have gotten funding for it.

Kurt Russell did a better job in my opinion plus he had a HELL of a better mustache than Kevin Costner

I prefer this movie to Tombstone

No,saw both.Western fan.Costner was at the top of his popularity.Tombstone took the genre to another level.Costners version was rush to screen because of of the surprising success of Tombstone.Had Russell not had the Fantastic Supporting Cast it would never have come off.Tombstone was under appreciated then,today it's a Classic,Val Kilmer now is recognized for his performance,and that he was Robbed of a well deserved Oscar.He stole the movie.Wyatt Earp,didn't cut it.

I prefer WE to Tombstone for scenes just like this. Had it not been nearly 4 hours long in runtime I do believe people would prefer this version to Tombstone. Great cast and acting all around in Costner's version. Love Quaid as Holiday, and Gene Hackman as young Wyatt's father!

本当に勇敢な人達だと思います。街を守る為に命懸けで戦った。

ドクホリデーと組んだワイワット兄弟は本当にカッコ良いと思います。ドクホリデーは問題を起こす人でしたが卑怯な更なる悪を嫌った。

Neither this movie or Tombstone is 100% accurate depicting the gunfight. This one is closer.

love this scene. My old acting teacher/friend (Gabriel) plays Billy Clanton. He was very young in this movie. LOL.

Lol, just noticed this. Virgil: "No use provoking them until we've had a chance to talk." Literally first words said by Morgan: "You sons of bitches been looking for a fight, now you can have it."

I personally prefer the more entertaining Tombstone as a movie. If you want realism, watch a documentary on the gunfight. There are many good ones online.

I like this version with Costner and company, though it pales in comparison to ''Russell,Kilmer,Elliot and Paxron !.

Somewhere in the movie Wyatt Earp there's a 100 minute western waiting, no begging, for a great editor to create. That movie might well be one of the greatest westerns ever made. Whoever has the rights could easily make that happen but never have. Shame.

Dennis Quaid played the perfect Doc Holliday in this version, about as close to his history as it gets.from his graze in the back at the shooting till his problems with Kate...just fucking perfect.

This movie was more about Wyatt Earp . The other one was about the incidents around tombstone. Whether realistic or not. Unless it's a documentary I don't care about realism. I liked this movie but still prefer Tombstone.
