The ones under 120, 000 that are garaged well taken care of : $12,000 up. There are exceptions. But most guys know what they have now. Of course, when you start getting into higher mileage, less pristine, well you know .
Three years ago (2020). I paid $18,500 for a unicorn . Shortbed regular cab with a 5.3, no power windows no power seats plain Jane but it had 30,000 miles garaged looked as almost as nice on the bottom as it was on top .(the top was mint)(I couldn’t say it was rust free because I had light surface rust on the driveshaft and on the springs and rear end… ( one of these days I hope to soda blast those parts.) But other than that it’s a museum piece… I’ve only driven about 750 miles in three years… oh yeah, I changed out the original hard tires and steel rims. So I have another 1200 in some new Chevy takeoff wheels… now some folks say : oh you over payed… well I could spend my life the next five years trying to find a deal… or go to a few Barrett Jackson auctions… I could go into a long story why we bought our truck.. the short answer is we owned an 03 for 13 years 250 k on it ( bought it when was three years old with 120 k on it) . When I retired, I didn’t want Camaro or nova … I wanted a gray man’s hot rod. And that ‘second car’ ‘college car ‘ for my kids few years ago was just the ticket . Both my wife and I have newer full size chevy truck n suv… this was to be a toy to use more… but circumstances allow it to sit.
