Now I know what G Scale is! Pretty big. Ideas for ballast? Well being a tight fisted cheap,,, lol I won't finish that as I know you don't like swearing. I personally would go sweep the small stones that end up at the side of a busy road for free. not sure if the colour would match though. Are there any neighbours you get on with well who are also into trains? you could cut a hole in a fence and pour glasses of wine and send them to each other along the tracks.

hiya Rach and Shaun that is impressive, I would guess for ballast fine stone chips about 6mm in size would work, but you wont need a ballast spreader for them you will need a shovel and a sweeping brush !! ha ha, really is good to see this develop i've no exp[erience of G scale until seeing the ones you have

Look at the size of them, if there was power to the track when you put the engine on, it would pull you around the room!!!

sorry i missed this but i was having an arguement over a metal medicine cabinet i have in my workshop/railway room which i have had nearly 2 years, the mangement of the house i am in saw it in there today and has dsecided they want it back after i had rescued it from a skip, they where throwing it out, so i because they wanted it emptyied it of my OO guage trains, and weighed the cabinet in at the scrapyard, that which teach them to be so petty, i got £150 for it

Mad to think tamping used do all be done by gangs of fellas across the country. Now a machine does it cheaper, quicker and more accurately. How on earth did ticket prices used to be lower when they used to employ way more than today lol. Anyways Awesome to see these working. Used to love seeing them go buy my childhood house at night.
