Extraordinary. Excellently performed. From 1750-1760, Beck more than 20 symphonies printed in France and Europe, which were very popular... François-Joseph Gosse - helped J. Haydn to print symphonies, he was completely unknown in Europe at that time. He was hired by Esterhazi (in his court) for 30 years, according to the contract he did not have any copyright. 1779 was a watershed year for Haydn, as his contract was renegotiated: whereas previously all his compositions were the property of the Esterházy family, he now was permitted to write for others and sell his work to publishers.

I prefer a Quantz concerto to a Vivaldi one in many cases, I know it's not always good to make comparisons but he deserves some of that attention that's usually lavished on Vivaldi!
Extraordinary. Excellently performed. Rigel learned the craft of music of different classicisms (!) He studied in Stuttgart with Niccolò Jommelli and François-Xavier Richter in Mannheim. This Symphony - a number of typical elements of the German "Sturm und Drang", minor keys, unisson passages for the whole orchestra and chromatic writing. Late-18th Century genre, true to French fashion in that they are all couched in the three-movement architecture derived from the Italian Overture, without the typical Viennese Menuetto. But he composed with great skill: French oratorios; He also wrote comic operas in the German singspiel type; He was one of the first composers to create works for piano accompanied by an orchestra; In some of them he introduced effects in the piano part that imitated the sound of the orchestra, including: repetitive chords in both hands at the beginning and end of the movement.

Rigel's well crafted symphony is in the customary three movements of the time. Contemporary with Haydn's Paris symphonies. The galloping presto third movement finale emphasizes minor keys which is unusual for that period. Beautifully played in this performance.

Diy concert vind ik wel mooi. Echter in vergelijking met de sinfonia concertante voor trompet, contrabas, mandoline en piano vind ik dit concert wat mager.

An excellent concert. Irony, for nation states. The French anthem "La Marseillaise" was "created" by an Italian, Giovanni Battista Viotti - "Tema e variazioni in do maggiore" in 1781. Similar to Giovanni Paisiello 1787 "Iddio conservi il Re" - Anthems Austria-Hungary (1867-1918) J.Hayd 1797. "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser".
The finale gets me every time.

Es ist die einzige Aufnahme (von den mir bekannten), die auch die Partie der (hier vorgeschriebenen) Posaune (quasi als das 3.Horn in der Frühromantik) zum "Klingen" bringt: Danzi wollte hier durchaus die Dimension der "bedrohlichen Romantik" andeuten... Das ist hier sehr schön gelungen (andere Aufnahmen wirken hierin immer ein bisschen "schwächlich"!). Vielen Dank für diese Wiedergabe!

Siempre creí que este espléndido Concierto pertenecía a Franz Joseph Haydn, pero hoy queda claro que su verdadero autor es Ignaz Malzat (1757 - 1804), lo cual demuestra la altísima calidad de este compositor que se ha mantenido en el olvido. Gracias por compartirlo y por aclarar la historia de esta excelsa obra del clasicismo.
Si wikepedia sta scritto che questo requiem fu commissionato a Eybler da Maria Teresa.........mi pare che la grande Imperatrice fosse passata a miglior vita già da tempo! Comunque Eybler devoto allievo di Mozart (lo accudì nella sua ultima malattia) e di Albrechtsberger rivela qui una personalità spiccata. Strano che si sia dedicato quasi esclusivamente alla musica sacra
