    Thanks for the walk around of the show Geoffrey, you have some really good equipment there. Hopefully your Sixty is ok, it sounds like it’s still running ok. The A4T 1600 is the same model as my tractor. This one had a the bubble nose front, which was very rare in Australia. The LP version had a 504ci engine and the diesel engine was 585ci. Both engines were rated for 169hp.

    Well G I had to LAUGH when you said if this is the Junior I would be scared to see the Senior or something like that 😂😂😂😂 I really started to get a good understanding of how it works and it’s really neat engineering but it looks like such a beast to get it back to your place! I read the comment about the little voices and I have to tell you I’ve been there so many times and at the end of the day it’s What will it take to load it and then what will it take to restore it and then look at your chequing account that’s kinda how I try to go about situations like this and I wish you all the best either way on this deal. if that mill was close to where i live i would be interested, i bought a m14 belsaw, but i would like to get something bigger. I think they used those sprockets to center the drum on the shaft .

    • @oldamericaniron5767
      @oldamericaniron5767 Před 19 dny

      Now after thinking about it I think you are right. It may have had a wooden drive drum which perished and this one made from a pipe obviously isn’t original and the gear was used to mount it. I’ll have to look at the pictures again but I believe there was no welding involved in the making of the drive, clever engineering doing it without welding.

      I do see a Lane sawmill on marketplace with a long rack on the carriage to drive but I still think you are correct about this one. Another interesting feature on the Lane is it doesn’t have a track per say for the carriage but instead a series of rollers the carriage travels across.

    • @danieljohnson9700
      @danieljohnson9700 Před 13 dny
