My daughter and I Followed your recipe tonight ... which is more 'methods and teaching' as the recipe we use is hubbies grandma's recipe and same as yours. She was from Anzac (Ft McMurray, Alberta) 🤍🇨🇦 Thank You Thank You THank YOU for this video ... and your Video guy too! Ours will be cooked by fire tonight, some like on the stick, others like in the pan... but I agree Fireside is bestest!
I have never learned, and now will start learning. Thanks aunty/ cousin for passing this down so we young ones can learn. I'm going to do this with my kids. Thank you.
Baked fry bread. 😌 No in all seriousness we make bannock too. But most tribes in the US make fry bread and we either make it on a stone pan or i like to fry it
My grandma used to make campfire bannock all the time. Her recipe has since been lost, thank you so much for sharing this! I would love to teach my son 🥰 respect to your family and heritage ❤
I found a recipe online! Tastes good without butter too. Totally shelf stable ingredients, fast to make, cooks perfect on the wood stove with a pot lid over it to keep the heat in!
It is so wonderful to see how bannock became part of the Native traditions. It actually originated from Bannockburn in Scotland. I wish my ancestors would also be acknowledged for sharing this with Native peoples. Cheers and Blessings
Hiy Hiy for the video. I made bannock following this videos instructions and it was my first time, and my kids were shocked out good it was. Thank you Kokom
thinkin thats quite a bit more than 1/4 cup of grease. maybe a 1/4 block or 1/2 or 3/4cup? that stuff looks good and cost effective in these tuff times. thank you!
You are correct! However the amount displayed still works fine! Thank you for your comment - you have a good eye! Please share the video with your family and friends, my Nimama (Mom) would like that!
I reviewed a lot of bannock on TikTok and what frustrates me is that 1) the videos doesn’t lay out the ingredients and amount 2) most people don’t seem organized, they could’ve redid the video before they aired 3) 3 /4 through their videos they tell you what the temperature to heat the oven . It’s difficult to find a straight forward video on how to make bannock
I have tried a few recipes from you tube now, and although they turn out OK, they are not like bannock I have gotten in the BC Shuswap. The stuff I have tried there was light and fluffy. I would love that recipe. Loved this chicken btw...
Thank you for sharing your comment!! love ❤. Please share your video too, please! Please share this video with your family and friends, my Nimama (Mom) would like that!

My grandfather was of the Cherokee nation. He died of a massive heart attack brought on by black lung disease. He was a coal miner in KY all his life. I was 3 when he died. I would have loved to got to know him, learn things from him.

Awesome kokoom right on 👍💯
Thank you for giving complete traditional family Bannuch recipe & procedure.
So basically they are just biscuits, dont think they're inclusive to a specific nationality, using buttermilk makes them taste much better

Thanks for your comments, Shane….enjoy! Please share with your family and friends!
