Many congratulations on your 8th anniversary Vin. Not many 8's in my collection tbh - have a lovely Glen Scotia 7 YO port cask open just now but rinsed a Single Cask Dalluaine 8 YO recently which was gorgeous. OBs include the lagavulin 8 and Ardbeg 8 Yr old. Cheers and here's to your 9th and 10th anniversaries yet to come.

interesting Vin, good that you liked it. I do like a thin rim to drink from that's why I do enjoy a Norlan to hold and look but to drink it's a problem. This seems to have a thick rim as well but I do like that you can get serious aromas as well. Thanks for this, cheers 🥃

Catching the replay, having seen it all now, its was cool, and the fact you didn't restrain the show to any precise topic aside from celebrating your 8th Anniversary (Congrats again, btw !) led to an interesting very open discussion on all sorts of topics & sticking to the news as well as explaining well things like marketing perception of what is a high end whisky by the wider audience, the ups & downs of willing to be an indie bottler, what we ask from a whisky, how to consume it, etc...Well done & I enjoyed a lot your guests take on it. Nice reviews, Vin! You asked how much these go for and here in Canada they are around the $100 mark which is about £55. Oh and we can get Crown Royal for $30 (often less) which is £16 but it’s not even worth that 😅 Cheers!

I tried this 3 years ago when I tried all the Glasgow whiskies and I remember enjoying this quite a lot. I wonder if it's still the same. This would be a great palate adjuster just before a higher abv whisky like you said. Cheers Vin, see you tomorrow!

I do like a thin rim glass. So much more refined for me. Break easy but it make for a better sipping experience. But that’s just me. Looks nice.

Thanks for shining a light on this new glass, Vin. Not something for me. First of all I am one of those that value packaging only for protection purposes. (period). Other than that, for me "beautiful packaging" only adds useless things as price, but certainly not value. Next to that I use to drink my whisky always at room temperature, so no cooling devices needed (again... for me). There certainly will be people that will appreciate this type of glass, but simple not something for me. I'll keep using my trusted copita. Slàinte mhath

That glass would in no way take the place of a Glencairn when I’m nosing and tasting, but if I’m just enjoying a dram, that one could give my Norlan whisky glass a run for its money; I like a bit of heft to a whisky glass. I’d only need to be bonked in the nose by that whisky stone once before tossing it, though…

Love the Morrison’s! Red Deer Whisky Club is tasting their range in September! I have loved past Carn Mor releases! Old Perth cask strength is great!! MAC Talla PX cask was amazing!! Now we are trying more of the range

Just as people are encouraged to drink whisky how they like, what they choose to drink it out of is also a personal choice, be it a tumbler, glencairn, copita, norlan or this glass. Got plenty of glasses but interesting review nonetheless but not one I will be rushing out to buy.

Sorry, but I have to ask: why do you ignore the "i" in "Glencairn"? It should be 'Glen-care-n', not 'Glen-carn'. I'm afraid that Diamas glass is not something I would want at all (maybe not quite as bad as the Norlan, but...).

I think as long as your tumbler is a little rounded on the rim (or curves inwards) you're golden, and I agree that the larger 'resonating chamber' lets the aromas come through without the burn. The problem with tumblers is they are often too big so the whisky is but a sliver at the bottom (if you're not drowning it in ice) so the Diamas looks like a much better size as a scaled down tumbler. I think it's biggest competitor are those new big stemless glencairns - glentumblers, tumblercairns? - but I don't know where you can get those generally. The worse thing for singing your nose hairs is a copita IMO.

I only occasionally use a tumbler type of glass when I stray from Scotch to bourbon. Not sure why, but it seems to fit better there. This glass looks very overengineered. I'm not looking to hold 350gr worth of glass. To each their own experience, I suppose. For Scotch, I prefer to stick to using nosing glasses. Either with or without stem. But the tulip shape and thinness of the glass is exactly what enhances the experience for me.

Nice review, I did see it in your 'Whisky in, Whisky out' video earlier this month and was intrigued by it. I too have Glen Cairn glasses but always seem to use a Glen Morangie stemmed tasting glass for when I am just sitting at home and having a pour, I've never been interested in using a standard rocks glass mainly because of it's size (stick 25-30mls in it and it looks bloody empty, lol) but this glass has that little 'shot glass' pentagonal shape at the bottom which might suit me better. There does seem to be quite a bit of whisky snobbery when it comes to a Glen Cairn glass, it seems to have become the defacto choice for any would be whisky tuber over the last few years or anyone else posting up pictures of a recent bottle kill on the BBS. Okay they are good at what they do but they are prone to breaking at the slightest provocation (like a hard stare from across a room, lol). Thanks for the review, I'll look into getting one, definitely one without the additional D&D stone dice though.

Hi. I watched your review for the cotswolds distillery whiskey. It really got me into their whiskey. I went to the 10th birthday celebration and I think I saw you there. I regret not coming to say hello, but I had a few of the old fashioneds and highballs at that point. I had a great time, and I definitely would not have gone to an event like that if I hadn't seen your video. I wouldn't have known that there was such a great distillery relatively close by to where I live, so thank you. :)

Graeme is a Scotsman relocated to Victoria, British Columbia! (Early history it was called New Caledonia)! Graeme uses his Gaelic roots to pick names. He does his own peating of local barley using local area peat!!!

My whisky club has bottled 3 casks from MacAloney’s! 2 virgin oak, one peated and one non. Plus one Portuguese red wine str!! All three have been good

Nice reviews, I love to see whisky from Canada being shared on the world stage. Macaloney's ae now famous (or infamous) for having a legal battle with Diageo...wait sorry, with the SWA around some of their label distinctions and wording. They are a fairly young distillery but already making huge waves. That kildara won the worlds best pot still whisky at the 2023 world whisky awards, beating out all the Irish entrants. The worlds best newmake spirit 2024 was also won by a Canadian Distillery making gorgeous peated canadian single malt.

Nice review Vin! That stuff is even difficult to get in Canada ! It’s good given the short history of that distillery as you discovered and…no more our secret now! 😂 I managed to get the Sherry bomb this year and I should say that it’s better when it open up a bit! 🥃sheer!

These sound dangerous to me as a sherry fan. Pack also available at HTFW. Bit worried about liking these and wanting several full size bottles when I am supposed to be cutting down on purchases. Might get a pack and take the risk 😊

these, red label and black label, find to be the best mixer whiskey, I generally like to mix it with ice and red bull, no one I have known has ever lioked that mixed, lot of people despise it, but I quite love it. So these are the best whiskeys I can mix with redbull without feeling guilty of ruining scotch whiskey. :)

Just not a blended fan. I'm trying to find some blended expressions that are higher quality. I am buying less, having less and enjoying more fabulous single malt scotch whiskies! Moderation! I definitely opt for the heavy peated scotch whiskies!! Terrific video! I only ever have a 60 ml dram or two so I don't bother with guard whiskies. Once in awhile I will do a 40% ABV but not often. I have become very choosy for what I will spend money on. Nooo to ice!!

Great review mate, I found this was a bottle I kept reaching for. A delish light melon liquid which disappeared too fast. Nice top ;)

With a limited whisky budget i'd not ever consider a blend - rather have a single malt everytime. Some cracking single malt deals out there at the moment especially as distillerys seem to be struggling to sell product.
