Automotive journalist Roger Barlow (Auto Week) had a maroon 604 turbo diesel identical to that one. I wondered if it was the same car until I saw that one had cloth. His had leather upholstery.

It's amazing that this is actually a RWD platform with good bones. If I didn't know what it was, looking at those massive overhangs and dainty little wheels, I would swear it was FWD.

Ironic that the Fairmont ended up being the better car with much more potential, given how plain and starchy it was. The Citation almost looks athletic by comparison. What a sad time to be alive lol.

My dad leased a 1985 Park Avenue and when the car was running he absolutely loved it and would often get stopped on the road and asked about it because it was a new model at the time. It was roomy and rode very smooth while the front wheel drive platform was great in the snow. Unfortunately after only a few months he had to return it under the lemon law as the car had constant problems. It repeatedly stalled, the drivers' side window dropped into the door repeatedly and the windshield wipers even stopped working in a rain storm.

Convinced my parents to get an 84 LE sedan. The build quality was just incredible. The switchgear had impressive design and tactile sensation. Miles ahead of Detroit at the time.

I saw this car just got burned.

My dad bought an 85 GTS new. Nice looking car that lasted my dad over a decade. A liitle underpowered but comfortable, practical and easy on gas on the highway.
