@@HoustonKilby like the way they tune it down here in central America to climb those mountains they pull nice loaded! In that heavy chassis and cab. I cpild imagine what it would do in a small pickup c30
@@orlanmedina3693 heck ya man ! I hear y
I clicked on this video because I thought you were going to show us how to remove the bench in a fifty five chev. Guess not.
those fans arent enclosed motors and one spark with that amount of volatiles in the air and your not gonna make it. Buried two guys that found out the hard way over it.
@@91rss dang man never heard of that with paint fumes if they are venting. I’ve heard that happening with gas fumes for sure. Thanks for the heads up
What gauge steel is that?
600 CFM Carb
Yes it need that bad
Great meeting you and seeing the Goat in person, I appreciate ya Houston! Hope to meet Jesse one day to!
Appreciate you to brother enjoy that black sheep you got !! Oh for sure he’s the main man lol 😂
@@HoustonKilby 😁👍👍 Hope to have it back on the road soon!
So good to see Jesse has the "Big Kahuna" back together, I hope he has the timing problem sorted, I've always found that car enthusiasts stick together and will share parts and help where they can, I've lucky enough to be on the receiving end, hope you get your 10,000 subscribers soon Houston
Ya man he’s been after it on the big kahuna I’m ready to test drive that big boy . Possibly this coming weekend,, me to man I think the 10k will help us out a ton . But any time car people can help other car people out it’s a good day
Don’t forget to make sure you are subscribed guys !! Let’s get to 10000 subscribers and be sure to check out skips dark hollow garage
Why do you hold your snips upside down , I've never seen that
So learned from a really old metal shaping guy that they cut better holding them this way and supposedly it’s actually the proper way so you can see what your cutting. Ever since I started doing it this way they cut 10 times better
@@HoustonKilby thanks for the replay, I'm going to try it right now , I'm working on my 2000 RUST -150
@@kevinhikes3132 lol I hear ya let me know how it works lol know it helped me on cuts for sure
Can I ask a stupid question? I’ve just recently gotten into metal fabrication and love it. But it’s PAINFUL! How do you guys deal with all of the sharp metal shavings that, no matter how much protection you are wearing, gets embedded in your skin? I know that you’re not suppose to wear mechanics gloves when using a drill press or grinder but I have to because if I don’t I spend two hours with a magnifying glass and surgical scalpels, that I buy off of Amazon, surgically removing painful metal shards. BUT I HAVE NEVER READ A SINGLE FABRICATOR EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT METAL SHARDS/WASTE. Am I doing something wrong? This is a serious question because I’m enjoying metal fabrication. But it scares me a bit because I know that every time I make something there will be metal shavings all over me. Any answers or suggestions would be very appreciated 🙏
Lol welcome to the club of burnt scared and metal burs in your hands. Tips: 1. All ways wear tight fitting safety glasses that fit close to your face. Use face shield when grinding or using cut off wheels. The first time you have to go to the eye doctor and get metal removed from your eye trust me it’s just the best day ever haha 😆 2. You learn what tools and cutting bits make burs that stab or sparks that burn. So then you know what to take extreme measures of safety equipment. 3. Try to wear gloves as much as you can the thin mechanics gloves work great but you needs some good quality leather gloves that fits tight 4 keeping shop clean . This one is the hardest for me because I’m so busy. Dirty shop means more cuts and burs Hope this helps trust me it takes time to learn it. It’s not easy . The old saying I built this car with blood, sweat, and tears is an accurate description.
@@HoustonKilby thanks so much and this is great! I love your channel. 🙏🙏
Great you got the heater core sealed up Houston, as you Guy's said, the price of car parts these days are through the roof! I always try to repair them if I can, good news the GTO parts aren't far away now!
Dang right man just fix it yourself Lordy these prices are killing peoples. Ya got word today the pistons and rods shipped out so next week will be full send
Good to see the Ole Tempest out n about! Still working a day job but getting my TH400 built on days off.

@@williamlanphar630 seriously?? Hmm what part is the volume low ??
Towards the beginning before you do the voice over then when you have the core on the bench . Think Jesse is too far away . Mic in the camera I'm guessing
@@williamlanphar630 ahhhhh ok ya we had a few problems with this I’ve got a microphone on the way that will hopefully fix this issue. Try try again lol 😂

Make sure you are starting with a 454 distributor. The advances are different than any other Chevy engine that uses the same part.
That’s good to know thanks for the tip I didn’t know that about the 454
Great to see you Guy's getting some work done on the "Big Kahuna", I think your on the right track with the distributer, the mechanical advance and or the vacuum advance could well be sticking in different positions changing the timing
Thanks brother we not giving up we will get it. I know we got it running right now but I’m dying to know what the heck actually caused the thing to come out of timing
Nice work guys.
Thanks brother
Just tore one of these RV 454s down and took it to the machine shop. Going to give it a lot of love and money and see if it can make a Camaro go 11 seconds lol
Heck ya man hope it goes well brother!!
Thanks guys awesome job
Thanks for watching buddy
Did y’all ever dyno it?
We haven’t yet we need to get it back out and fix some fuel Issues on it and go from there
