Thank you for sharing! In the past 24 months I have finally been able to recognize the trauma that I was exposed to while being raised as a jw. None of it was your fault. Congratulations on being part of the "my mom pretends Im dead club". Its a very tough club to get into.😢
"Just keep shoveling coal" Back story: that is a direct quote from the Gilead Graduates 2024: "If you find yourself questioning WHY all these recent changes to how JWs are supposed to act and think 🤔 First stop yourself from doubting anything the GB told you And then just keep shoveling the coal. It is the equivalent of :sit down and shut up while we drive off a cliff".😅😅
What you're going through reminds me so much of what my mother-in-law went through. Dealing with C-PTSD and clinical depression as an ex-JW was very difficult at the beginning, though getting early support from my non-religious parents did help her, especially after being unfairly disfellowshipped for stupid and unfair reasons. I hope you can start healing from the trauma soon. My heart breaks hearing your story. No one deserves to suffer from religious trauma. Ever. You deserve SO much better than this. 💙🫂

This SO reminds me of what my mother-in-law went through. She was born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness, but was abused by her parents, 2 siblings, and relatives, and later her terrible husband. Her 4 of 6 children were also abused by that monster as well, with my sister-in-law, Veronica, suffering the WORST abuse out of all. Although my parents fortunately helped Laura (my mother-in-law) escape from her ex-husband and make the choice NOT to return to JW after years of abuse, seeing her children being abused by her ex-husband, victim-shaming, and victim-blaming, my mother-in-law has to deal with C-PTSD as well, as well as clinical depression. She's doing much better now, but my sister-in-law... not so much. Being a lesbian born in the JW "religion" actually made things worse for her, and she is now dealing with C-PTSD, clinical depression, severe anxiety, bulimia, substance use disorder, alcoholism, suicidal thoughts, self-harming tendencies, and internalized homophobia. Helping her with her mental health issues caused by the JW "religion" was very, VERY difficult, as she made too many suicide attempts to even count. My mother-in-law's and your story breaks my heart and INFURIATES me. No one, and I MEAN, NO ONE, should EVER have to go through abuse or be shamed for speaking out. Hugs to you, and I hope you can heal from all the trauma you suffered. ❤️🩹❤️🩹🫂
My heart breaks for Laura and Veronica. It's beautiful that your parents were able to step in and provide them with a safe space for healing! I really hope they continue to improve and shed the layers upon layers of abuse that they had to endure for so long. Thank you so much for watching, and for sharing how this resonated with you! My mother-in-law was in a VERY abusive marriage, even before that monstrous ex-husband became a JW in 2007, so I can definitely see the comparison. 😬😬😬

Then I guess it's a bummer we were all 'made in God's image' then. If he really felt that way, they wouldn't exist. Yet they have existed since the beginning. Also, pretty sure I'm not gonna treat people sideways based off a book. A book that's been translated and retranslated, used to manipulate and discriminate against entire groups of people based on the time period. Mankind is imperfect, and so is everything it touches. Including the bible. I choose to love and respect ALL. The way Jesus also 'said' to do.

The bible also says to not eat pork, to stone sinners, has examples of near genocide, children being murdered by the same god you claim is loving, innocent people like Job's family being slaughtered in a chess match between god and the devil to prove a point. Because if you truly 'loved' as you should, you wouldn't have come to place where people are hurting and dealing with unjust loss and despair, to try and pass judgement. You are no one to talk. Because I'm pretty sure he also said 'love your neighbor as you would love yourself' and also 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' and also 'forgive freely, even up to 77 times'.
@@anotherhealingjourneybegins Jesus said unrepentant ones are to be treated as they treated tax collectors or gentiles back then. Paul showed do not associate with them do not eat or drink with them. the apostle john showed that you do not greet apostates or welcome them in your home. Jesus showed he detested same sexing therefore it is sin. People commit sin yes but the issue is being unrepentant not changing. Now in all this the bible never says never say anything to them in fact it says the opposite that you would admonish them and give them the message to encourage them to change to come back in the family of believers. first kings chapter 13 the prophet was not to eat or drink with them but he did kindness at the same time. Yes the watchtower shunning goes beyond the biblical limits and the reason for it is to protect the power of the governing body. They themselves should be reproved and put in a judicial committee for their false teaching and their joining of the united nations. They themselves should be shunned because of unrepentance. But the fact remains the bible is clear on unrepentant ones and how to deal with them.
@leejohnson6328 At least we agree on one thing, Watchtower has abused their power. As far as everything else you said, I was born as I am. Me being gay is no different than someone choosing to be born black or of a certain region. We are what we are. As the JW elders used to say, remove the rafter from your eye before removing someone else's. To mistreat people to the point that they feel abandoned and kill themselves, is disgusting. Again, the bible was written with various context which people love to ignore and manipulate for their own gain. And again, was written by imperfect man. I pray everyday but am still viewed as unrepentant by a large chunk of society. And I no longer care. Because the creator I am praying to, loves me as is. Unconditional and continues to bless me, even when the world says I don't deserve. My judgment belongs to him alone.

I'm so thrilled and so proud of you for *pushing past your anxiety* and making it there. That was smart to bring someone with you as well. I suffer from anxiety too, so I know that *just getting there* might not have been all that easy. About 4 or 5 years ago I wanted to go to the *"San Diego protest."* I live about 2 hours away from *where the protest would be held here in Southern California.* Because I was *suffering from so much anxiety* that day, *We didn't make it there in time for the protest.* My girlfriend ( who was going to take me there, ) asked me, *"if this gives you so much anxiety, why would you even want to go there for the protest?"* I told her that by *pushing myself through these things* that bring on my anxiety is a way of eventually desensitizeing myself of it by way *pushing myself through it,* so this is the way to get myself through/past the anxiety, which in turn would eventually lead to me *not having as much anxiety or none at all.* Even though she was a *psychiatric technician,* I didn't get the impression that she was familiar with this technique nor understood what I was even talking about. *Maybe because it sounded so counterintuitive. IDK?* So I set myself down to ride out the anxiety for a while. *Gilbert Gonzales,* aka *GG4GB* called me and encouraged me to go there anyway, even if we were going to be late *so we could gather with the others who were at the protest who were going to meet up at a near by restaurant.* We didn't make it there in time for that either. But *GG4GB* told me to call him when we do get there *even though we are running late.* So even though we were beyond late because of *me and my anxiety,* by the time we made it there, I did call him and *he met up with us at the same restaurant that they all met up at earlier in the day.* My girlfriend, Gilbert and I set outside on the patio. *The weather was great and we had really good conversations too.* So our attempt at making it there turned out to be not so bad after all. *Gilbert had gotten a letter from the Watchtower* a few weeks before the convention that was going to be held there in San Diego, *demanding that he not set foot/show up anywhere on the premises of where the convention would be held.* Was it legal, *IDK?* A few others had gotten *this same kind of letter from Watchtower.* I think the name of the place where the convention was being held was called, the Cow (something or another) Palace. Even though *GG4GB had decided to respect the demands of the Watchtower and not go on any of the premises where the convention was held, ( and therefore not at the protest either, )* it didn't stop the fact that *he had hired a plane to fly over and across* the outdoor stadium with *a short message slightly flaping behind it* with the link to jwfacts.com 😊

@@anotherhealingjourneybegins oh yeah, I totally get it. Actually, many of us who were raised in high control destructive cults struggle with anxiety and phobias. No one can pay me enough to go back to my childhood. For me being born and raised in the JW CULTure was a living hell.
