    actually the magic is NOT given just by the two materials but to the resine that is used for sticking them together and then hardened with a catalyst that forms more complex polymers

    The mechanics are great....robust and over built. Flyers do have the option of using electronic/magneto replacement ignition.

    I been using Oxyacetylene equipment 21 years and must note one safety tip, ALWAYS use reverse flow check valves and flashback arrestors if you're torch don't have them you can purchase them at the welding supply.

    12:45 very good description of shut down, so many weldors get bent out of shape if you mess with their settings.... I guess they are not smart enough to remember or record the settings for future use......and they would rather have damage done to their regulators instead of properly shutting them down not to mention the possibility of having a accident ....

  • @ypaulbrown
    @ypaulbrown Před 6 měsíci

    6:40 he states the cylinder needs to be opened slowly to prevent damage to the regulator, it is also important to slowly open the cylinder to prevent Regulator Blow Out, where the friction and heat of the gas causes the regulator blow out with tremendous pressure and explosive force and flame......that is why you never stand in front or behind the regulator, only to the side, preferably with the valve between you and the regulator.....look up RBO on the internet, there are some good videos showing the results of opening the oxygen valve to fast....

  • @ypaulbrown
    @ypaulbrown Před 6 měsíci

    5:20....states that putting a hose on a regulator with something in the hose could let that object be blown into regulator....how could that happen, as the regulator does not suck material in from the hose, it only allows pressure into hose...

    0-235 front stud broke off at the nut dumping oil out.. I had seen oil pressure dropping into the yellow arc on throttle back for some weeks, engine ran normal, no vibration. I put some 100w in and pressure sort of restored. Engine stripped, centre bearing had spun. Can't see why unless pump or regulator fault. Camshaft bearing seat had also cracked in middle.

    Thank you so much for making this available! This is by far the best and most complete video course I've seen on this subject. I'm a few months into teaching myself how to weld with OA. I've watched and studied these 2 videos beginning to end maybe 15-20 times, and when I'm out practicing my welds, the voices of these two guys are in my head. I've really concentrated on mastering to the best of my ability the skills in the order presented, and it's paying off. The student/master Q and A thing dates back to Socrates, and is a classic, time proven way of presenting material in a logical fashion.

    I getting a torch , for my art mostly , the torch is more like the light saber of the jet I fighters. Also, I not have anywhere to plug into in the place I need to work , and not good dry surface to work on. Plus so many things can break on arch welders and plasma cutters , especially the lower cost machines. The oxyacetylene torch is more earthy and meditative.
