The Couchside Judges (2020-2024) break down MMA judging each week.
Co-hosts and longtime friends Scott Fontana (New York Post) and Dan Urban follow every UFC event, plus some Bellator, PFL and more, with their analysis of why the judges posted the scores they did. Oh, and they rep for New Jersey whenever possible, especially Taylor Ham Country (aka North Jersey).
Beyond round-by-round analysis - with the occasional guest appearance by MMA media figures - the CSJ examine unique data trends in MMA that can't be found anywhere else, such as which judges are most likely to be in the majority on a round.

Very informative pod! Is there a resource you recommend where I can read up on the information you learned in the judge/ref course?
If he legitimately lost round 4 after getting a knockdown AND landing more shots and the better harder shots that round in general bc the guy simply had his back. Then I think training camps for certain guys should literally be all about getting the back and not even worrying about a finish bc apparently having someone back for a minute automatic guarantees you the round no matter what the other guy does.. smfh

If you had to guess, did all three score round 4 for Gamerot bc they all had the same angle and couldn’t tell he got knocked down by a backfist and not a ‘Slip’….. or did all three score it for Gamerot KNOWING he got knocked down that round…. ? You guys didn’t even touch on the highly circulated theory that they simply missed the knockdown and thought it was just a slip….
