Rusty vintage 1930s Rain King restoration
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 6 měsíci
Hi all, thanks for stopping by and watching this latest restoration video of these 1930s 'Cooper Stewart' Rain King Sprinklers... Been sat outside for some years, so much so, I cracked the shaft for the hose nozzle. Sadly i don't have a lathe, so have had to patch it with metal cold weld. But seems to have worked. Retained the true original colours using powder coat, which is always fun. As eve...
Rusty & Tarnished Antique Salter Pocket Scale Restoration - 100+ years old?
zhlédnutí 589Před 7 měsíci
Hi everyone . . Thanks for stopping by and watching this latest restoration video of some Vintage Salter Pocket Scales. The pocket balance was first created in 1770 by Richard Salter in the UK. I've tried researching, but there's so many different models. Unsure of the exact age of this, but its easily over 80 years old, maybe older This item had years of tarnish, with very thin brass so had to...

Hopefully another piece saved from the scrap heap, From the old gold, green dodgy paint job, rust, to a nice Ivory paint job, nice and bright . . #CrustyRestorations #asmr #rusty #restoration #vintage It may not be perfect, but lots of work to achieve this. Always wanting to learn skills, techniqu...

Old and Rusty Stor Metal Drawer Cabinet Restoration
It was necessary to preserve the holes of the gram weights, perhaps one day I would be able to find them
They can always be redrilled if I find some ,thanks for watching 👍
Should have sandblasted the paint off, would have gone down to the bare metal
Was on a very limited budget, hopefully next time..thanks for watching 👍
I miss the yellow paint. Otherwise really nice looking.
The yellow was nice, but thought the natural look. Thanks for watching 👍
Why didn't you just put the radiator right way round and let the sludge drain out by itself FIRST before attaching the hose?
Dam that's Awsome mate
Can you please tell what kind of paste you use to clean the metal with the brush? Thanks
Hi, just paint remover, I did include it in the video I think 👍
Nice work!
Many thanks, the small items are always the most tricky👍
Hella dope results, @CrustyRestorations!
no sound or is it me?
Beautiful place
What a great job! 🙂
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed👍
@@CrustyRestorations I really did, I'm a big fan. You're so inspiring! 😊 And... although I'm not experienced in restoring at all, I'd love one very special piece of my family treasure to come back to life again without destroying it. 😊
Great work> I think the large rectangle used to hold 0.0, 0.2 and 0.5 gram pieces of brass with one corner turned up, for mor accurate measudements. The smaller rectangle used to hold a pair of tweezers for picking up these small pieces. My set has many of these pieces so that any combination of small weight could be made. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info!👍👍 much appreciated
That looks great after renovation 👏👏
Many thanks 👍
Super jest ten cały zraszacz odrestaurowany pozdrawiam serdecznie 👍👍👍👍
Many thanks 👍
You hit the hose swivel the wrong way...that's what broke it
It has a reverse screw.. research is key👍👍
😊❤🎉🎉🚿🚿🚿🚿🤩😁💯🤗⭐
Many thanks 👍❤️
Great job beautiful work
Thanks chap, much appreciated 👍
Nice job, I did one on my channel a while ago, it fought me all the way due to corrosion. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching, I did watch your videos a few times for tips. For the life of me, I couldn't undo the central shaft. But it spun freely, but did make painting tricky👍👍
@@CrustyRestorations they're interesting things. Mine takes pride of place in the shed, buried under far too many projects! 😁
Very nice! Very labor intensive restoration but it turned out great. I wondered how you would make the repair - good old JB Weld to the rescue. Regards, Bill.
Thanks for watching, gutted when it broke. If I had a lathe could have drilled it out, made a whole new piece etc.. Certainly an item for the future 👍👍
Great job mate 👏👍
Thanks for watching, much appreciated 👍
That looks great. Nice and difficult restoration. I like the result. I would like to have a springler like this one on my garden through summer days (cause I hate plastics). One thing... I would highlight those signs on the body... And your bench grinder sounds like from another solar system (on my headphones) 🙂👍
Thanks, definitely outlast any plastic rubbish.. I did think about highlighting the letters, maybe on the next project👍👍
I'm a little jealous...I've been trying to buy one off a guy at the flea market for my wife's garden. The guy just won't come off his price. Came out fantastic!
Many thanks, annoying when people won't budge on the price.. maybe ebay, few on there I think👍👍
Outstanding work 👍👍
Many thanks, small items seem trickier than large lumps👍
It is not a radiator. It is oil field 😂
It was nice to me to watch this restoration. I like when there are lots of steps of processing. 👍 How are you satisfied with the powder coating gun? Good luck to next work.
Thanks.. First time powder coating after watching many videos.. great gadget, saves waiting for primer, paint, lacquer to dry.. recommended 👍
Promo SM
Astounding that it's still so accurate! Beautiful job, very well played 👍
Thanks for watching, much appreciated👍
I really like it, you put a lot of work into renovating such a small item, it looks very nice.👍
Much appreciated the small things always take more work 👍👍
Nice powder coating gun and amazing job 👏 👌
Many thanks, new toy, hopefully a few less rattle cans and waiting days for primer, paint, lacquer etc to dry👍
Amazing
Thanks for watching 👍
It didn't glow
I've not tried that type of oil bluing before, normally use a bluing liquid. Might give it a go as it comes out well. Good resto👍🏻
Many thanks, I was unsure, but it worked a treat👍 give it a try
amazing! You have a lot of wisdom and technology. It’s wonderful to see something shiny again👍
Who doesn't like something shiny 😀 thanks for watching👍
