The movie house party 1 was filmed in these projects

I lived there from 1960 tru 1965. As kids we walked all over the place. During the summer we walked the RR tracks over to the Downey plunge for a swim and got into a fight with another kid from Clover. I learned how to swim at the YMCA but I don’t remember the location. We used too hop the fence of Foremost milk Co. to take ice cream they would throw in the dumpsters 😂. They also used to have a junkyard near the swimming hole were we used to scrounge up what ever we could find useful like a broken lamp 😂. My mom would send me over to Sally’s store with a note and a quarter to buy a pack of Salem cigarettes. Wonderful memories.

Thats where i was born and raised 🙏🏽💯

3 years later now the projects getting a paint job, they're green and blue now, they're not finna be tan and brown no more

I grew up here from 62-74, I had so much fun as a kid, I was oblivious how bad it was I was a kid, LOL

That stairway wasn't there when I grew up in RG. There was a pathway on each side of the hill. Just like in American Me, where the kid hits them up..." Hazard controla todo." As kids growing up there walking to Murchison. Some of us would swing stray cats from the top of the hill. Don't worry, somehow they always landed on their feet. We would also slide down the hill on cardboard boxes too.

This place is full of childhood memories. Home Sweet Home from 1978-1989... I still got family dat lives in RG.

Look up LAPD officer suggest dropping off Avalon gangster criip in enemy territory thats the exact title. You see the buildings and the crips being arrested graffiti all over the wall saying AVALON CRIPS. And they are not the Jordan Downs or Imperual Courts or Nickerson Gardens. This neighborhood looks similar to Hacienda Village. I did look up images on google though and it is this neighborhood though. Thsts crazy.. anyone reading this look up the title i wrote in the beginning and you'll see what i mean. Maybe they rebuilt? I'm not sure. Let me know

When I pulled up in Boyle heights I was drinking and unfortunately it was around 12am and I stopped off at historical mariachi plaza (because it’s a Chicano landmark of sorts) so all I had were empty streets and the plaza but it would cool to visit again much love from PHX aka LA PHOENIQUERA

Gentrification is a bitch here in PHX ARIZA we feel the effects too

I lived here seen min 1:17 apt to the left #46 from when I was born 1969 to 1978. Still have fond memories of this place. Too bad they’re tearing it down. Wish someone would post video of the inside of these apts to share. Thank you for posting this video

You should go to felcia court in oxnard. Its looks very similar to the older version of aliso village. I would do it sooner than later because they tore down all the older projects. Felcia coirt is the last street with the Orginal projects left
