This is the last video I did of the US Open and wanted to include things I normally do not. This video is the longest I have made. But it was important to hear the names of those who make these events possible. Without them, we would not have any of these organized shoots to enjoy. So, thank you to all of them!

The 2023 National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) US Open

I was fortunate enough to shoot the US Open at the end of March and the beginning of April. So many great people! So much to do and see! So much fun! This is my view! There will be three parts, this is part one. I am breaking it down to the Prelim and Main (this video) and then there will be the 5 Stand & FITASC then the Matrix and the shoot-offs.

In less than 30 days the 2023 US Open will be upon us. I am super excited to participate in such an event! It is the venue, the targets, and the people who make this so much fun! Do you happen to have a "Matrix Layout" or suggested layout plan so that I can ask my club to set up a 5 stand area to the particular distances and crosser's that you were originally thinking of to play this game?
Hello Bud, I will give you the basic answer but also have reached out to those who have the exact distances to ensure you have the correct information. Once I have it I will again respond to your inquiry. The approximate distance from the platform is 15 yards out for the first set of traps (#1,#2). They are 60' from the centerline of the platform to the left and right or 120' from the #1 machine to the #2 machine. Then from there the machines go approximnently 10 yards out to the next set (#3,#4) and then again another 10 yards (#5, #7) and then another 10 yards to the last set (#6, #8). Machines #2 and # 4 are chandelles and the rest are standard crossers with a arc of 20 yards up. I hope this helps and will give the exact distances when Tim or Eddie give them to me. Holy cow! That's a lot of wind (flag shot) especially in a drone shot! What drone?
It was really windy! The drone I used in the shot was the DJI Spark.
It’s always very very windy at that club. What’s amazing to me is that their TRAP mechanic is able to set the machines to throw a nice target in spite of the wind. The idiots where I shoot speed up the targets to deal with the wind.
How can I get involved in this club? Currently a sophomore at ASU.
