I worked in this field for several years. Only a cracked "check ring" will allow material to back-flow around the screw.
Hi Norman, thank you for your comment. The material backflow happened at the check ring is recognized by many injection molding machine makers. Way back when technology was changing from plunger to screw machines, many plunger machines were retrofitted in this very method. Nothing new or revolutionary.
