Black Aces Bullpup Trigger Job
zhlédnutí 152Před 3 měsíci
Today we take a dive into the fire control group of the Black Aces Tank 12 Shotgun, commonly sold by Palmetto State Armory. This video should demonstrate how simple it is to lighten the trigger by at least 2.5 pounds immediately with no special tools, and how to get a consistent, smooth trigger with a crisp break (this requires some stones and patience). I am on a mission to provide as much mat...

Palmetto State Armory sells a 12 gauge bullpup shotgun for $300. I bought two and decided to do a full disassembly and overview of its parts and functionality. There isnt a ton of information on the Black Aces / Defenceport Tank 12. So i hope this contributes to the collective knowledge a little bit. This video is purely for informational and educational purposes only. I hope that this serves t...

How many shells have you sent through? Any issues?

so far about 75. first box had several issues, typically failure to feed. second box was way better, maybe one malfunction. and last box had no issues at all. It appears to have a bit of a break in period and that aligns well with what the manual suggests

@@Tyler_Daniels Same here! I sent about 3 boxes through and had almost all of them fail to eject. However, they were lower-ish velocity rounds - 1190 to 1250 fps. I had one box left of 1290. Almost all of that 1290 fed nicely. Hell of a break-in period! The extractor really tore up the ends of the first few shot shells and the bolt was jamming up when trying to eject. Not sure why that was happening. Maybe the break in sluggishness/needs oil?? IDK. I may have just started with fps too low. My next trip will probably only include 1325 or slightly higher as well as running it pretty wet. What are your personal recommendations on fps range for this one? What shells did you use for break-in?

@@danielanderson8790 I used 2 3/4 1200fps 1.25oz number 6 shot and it ran beautifully on the standard low velocity piston. if you still have the LV piston installed and are running 1 oz or greater and over 1200 fps you should be fine. if this still isnt working then you may want to examine the bolt face and locking recess for any burrs or wear marks

@@Tyler_Daniels Checked out the bolt face and recess areas, and everything "seems" to look fine. One thing I noticed is when the bolt is closed, it takes a significant amount of weight (maybe 20 lbs plus) on the charging handle to open the bolt initially. Then when sliding it back after the initial "sticking", it slides all the way open pretty effortlessly. Anyway, not sure if that has something to do with why it continues to jam closed after each shot. I am using 1250fps plus with 1-1.25oz with said issue. I may have to return it. IDK. Thanks for the advice.
