Honestly the Bachman diesel is a bit more worth it now as they have a grumpy face version. It may be slow and a bit noisy… but hey that’s accurate and he runs well so no complaints for me.

Honestly I’ve found the Bachman Edward to be far more reliable than people say he is. I have 2 of them, and they run perfectly! Gordon and Henry I had to modify right out of the box cause their eyes got jammed, and I had to glue a chunk of metal to James front truck just to keep it from derailing all the time. Edward was the only one that didn’t require servers modifications other than adding weights into the tender, which I did with all my Thomas tender engines. Overall I definitely recommend Edward so long as you give him plenty of small coaches to pull.

It’s been something that has stuck with me. You’ve probably long since put it out of your mind, but I used to read your old “Hero of the Scales” blog back in 2011 and I left some, lets say, “disparagingly impatient” comments on that blog while venting about the wait between video uploads. Both models are good but the 2015 Hornby Thomas is the best Thomas model in the OO/HO range for me

Great presentation. Funny timing for me since I was just listening to the newest update in California’s High Speed Rail system on the radio. After all of these years, I unfortunately don’t think it’s going to the happen. It’s estimated cost is $100 billion for a rail line between Los Angeles and San Francisco. I don’t think it’s worth it for that price.

I Personally Think That HORNBY Toby Would Be Better Because Hornby’s Thomas Models While They Did Have Problems With Scaling And Proportions. They DID Have Good And Reliable Mechanisms When Compared To Bachmann’s. Bachmann’s Wheel Sets Slot Into Squared Slots With No Bearings Leading To More Friction Which Equals To A Shorter Motor Life And Sometimes By A Significant Margin. I Like To Look At It Like The Higher Price Is More Equated To Longevity NOT Just Detail. That’s My Take.

I always thought of this but I think that in the episode Cows we see a shot of Edward, Gordon, and Toby in a siding together and Toby was taller than Gordon which is a cousin of the LNER A3 Flying Scotsman because Gordon was an A1 and the A1s were rebuild into the A3s.

I find it hilariously ironic that the traction tyre Thomas was attributed for its performance and praised for its tyres on its center wheel set but the 2010 Thomas performs just as well under the same coach load and is also faster.
