You can use steam on faux leather, but can not use a heat gun on faux leather upholstery.

We wouldn't suggest misting them, but setting the seats in direct sunlight by itself will help dissipate minor wrinkling. The methods shown in this video just help speed up that process, and steaming the upholstery makes it easier to install.

This system requires your seat upholstery to have perforation on the inserts with a mesh backing foam to allow the air from the system to blow through the covers and to your body.

Yes, it will still work. The pipe on the pneumatic headrest shrinker tool is larger than the post, so when you push it up against the foam it can still effectively suck air out of it.

The wiring harness for these units just have a power and ground wire. We typically run a constant power, ground, and switched accessory power through a relay.

Great point. GM does offer a ventilated seats, but the GM ventilated seats we've looked into for this generation typically have fans in the seats that blow ambient air. It's possible the High Country received something different, but everything we've looked into for that generation doesn't have a thermo-electric device to cool the air being blown like the system we are offering. Either way having some ventilation is better than none!

The ventilation unit TED device uses two semiconductors separated by two junctions to exhaust the heat created by the device through one junction and the cool air through another (called the Peltier effect), depending on what setting the unit is on (heat or cool). In theory, when installed properly the unit can run indefinitely without overheating.

These units are certainly a popular choice for resto-mod builds! Yes, it is possible to install these units in bench seats, as long as the new upholstery installed has perforated inserts with a reticulated (mesh) backing foam to allow the heated or cooled air to blow through the upholstery to your body. The only time these units can not be installed on a vehicle is if there is a surface-mounted occupancy sensor on a more modern application, or if there is not enough physical space to mount the system's components.
