    Very interesting video Dave. I have a great interest in freeing up engines at present as I have an International B-275 with a stuck engine. I am going to try and free it up by putting fluids in the bores first, if that don't work, I am expecting the worse and going for a full rebuild. I hope you can find what you are looking for, for your baler, would be great to see it run and working in the near future.

    The last time I worked on a MH 701 was in an industrial unit in Accrington Lancs. Do you remember when Cadbury Chocolates used to pack their presentation boxes with a bluish stringy paper to protect the chocolates well this is what they were trying to bale. It was almost impossible to see the intake elevator with all those chains and sprockets as the paper wrapped around anything that moved eventually throwing off the belt.

    • @02playman
      @02playman Před 12 dny

      @@pauljones2633 on the top of most injectors, there’s a leak-off pipe and surplus diesel returns to the tank.if that element is seized and it doesn’t give way, the injector pump will continue building pressure. Winding the handle probably wouldn’t do it but, once we put the belt on, the pressure had to go somewhere!

    Great work well done, I did see a 6 2 with a winch on, near Bilbury some years back in a timberyard. I was just strolling along the countryside and spotted a rare looking major in a yard, least rare for me. I turned and went back to the yard full of timber,and a few majors still in active duty, had a good look at them , was like a timewarp.Old saw mills etc. memory tells me you are spot on with axle placement, Their engine allowed axle attachment with wishbone in reverse as you are planning. I Seen your 135 zetor on facebook when the new owner took it home, spotted the zetor front axle immediately and knew it was fishy. Great imagination , you, sorry WE are all nuts, love it cheers,

    6/4 looks great !! as for the 6/2 I think that will also look good. I'm with you on , it's your tractor, you do what you won't to do.

  • @super6954
    @super6954 Před 6 měsíci

    Thanks for the updates. I'm just doing a 1 sump 10" longer conversion challenge on a super sump here in Canada . Mines a bit harder than yours will be as it's going on a 2704ET engine to build a factory looking turbo tractor. I've already cut and blanked the old major oil pump location, the sumps in 2 halves and I'd like to get it in a milling machine somewhere to true the cut ends so i can weld in a nice parallel steel plate to fill the gap. I've been working on the modified oil pick up pipe design this afternoon. The worst part is the "special" rods here in Canada are about $400 so I'm mig welding it an inch at a time, talk about stress waiting for a loud crack after it's peened and cools ! You'll find there are quite a few bolt holes don't line up between 4 cyl and the 6 spacing on the block flange. I'm pretty sure that 6/2 picture was a cobble job somebody made, personally if it wasn't for building the nose and bonnet the right shape I'd love to do a county 2wd. The real sad part of being here in Canada is I've got about 6 sets of those hubs and wheel weights/ backing washers and stuff as most tractors here had pressed fronts and wheel weights, shipping now would just cost as much as you can buy them there. In the big days of shipping Pocock was buying from my local wrecking yards and clearing all that stuff and tin work out. we couldn't even buy it then, as he was in total control of the market with those guys. Looking forward to see a professional do his sump ,Take care both of you.

  • @PhilLight-us8pw
    @PhilLight-us8pw Před 6 měsíci

    Axle position looks spot on on both. Your 6/4 looks slightly lower on the front than an original one which is no bad thing as I think they looked too nose high. You have still retained that Roadless stance & look though. Dad had a Roadless NP super major which had such a worn front axle he had to engage 4WD when on the road so the wind up would stop the front wheels from wobbling so much. I struggled to drive it due to that dam spacer box & my short 13 year old legs !

    Can I pick your brains 😁? Is a mk1 MF595 basically an updated MF188? And if it's a mk1 and 4wd, isn't that a retro fitted unit? I'm under the impression that the mk1 was a 2wd standard but you could buy and retro fit the 4wd kit and MF mechanics would fit it. Am I correct? By the way great video 😊

I’m now on the last stage of a big job we're doing away from home and once that's finished, I'll be semi-retired and will spend more time on tractors. I’d say fully retired but I’ve already said that twice and got lured back - fingers crossed!
