Samantha Di Lena - Problem finding, not solving.
zhlédnutí 56Před 10 měsíci
Problem finding, not solving. Samantha Di Lena The best problem solvers are the best problem finders. But they don’t just find any problem, they find the right problem that needs solving. Problem solving is a fundamental skill that we are taught throughout our school years. However, I believe we are only taught half the process. We are taught how to look for solutions and solve for the problem ...

Much appreciated, very clear description of what's required to create a CarPlay app - thanks Jason
DDD, this talk was AAA. the best one yet. please get this smart and charming young man back for more
Sorry to be negative but I consider this video unwatchable because of the very poor audio quality. Even on maximum volume the background noise and echo made it almost impossible to understand what the speaker was saying.
great talk
Loved this talk. Just recommended it to someone.
Thank you! Could you please give more information about entitlement request? I should have ready app and then need to integrate CarPlay to it, or for request no need to have app, and developing may start after entitlement confirmation?
Html and Css is the futur ! Why to install nodejs and react and co to do basics things.
Can I export the ipa, install it on my phone via a sideloader like AltServer and use my created App on CarPlay without entitlements? Or do I even need them even though I don't list the App on the AppStore?
Great stuff! I wonder if you could make it do some Sol LeWitt art?

Thanks Jason! :)
Hi ryan
What happens if you use multiple entitlements? Can you use different scenes and UI templates from both entitlements?

Brilliant Jia. Love how you are a shining light to show people how to lead and grow our future.
Great presentation. Very eye opening and educational!
Awesome presentation Alex! Love your passion.
It's becoming clear that with all the brain and consciousness theories out there, the proof will be in the pudding. By this I mean, can any particular theory be used to create a human adult level conscious machine. My bet is on the late Gerald Edelman's Extended Theory of Neuronal Group Selection. The lead group in robotics based on this theory is the Neurorobotics Lab at UC at Irvine. Dr. Edelman distinguished between primary consciousness, which came first in evolution, and that humans share with other conscious animals, and higher order consciousness, which came to only humans with the acquisition of language. A machine with primary consciousness will probably have to come first. What I find special about the TNGS is the Darwin series of automata created at the Neurosciences Institute by Dr. Edelman and his colleagues in the 1990's and 2000's. These machines perform in the real world, not in a restricted simulated world, and display convincing physical behavior indicative of higher psychological functions necessary for consciousness, such as perceptual categorization, memory, and learning. They are based on realistic models of the parts of the biological brain that the theory claims subserve these functions. The extended TNGS allows for the emergence of consciousness based only on further evolutionary development of the brain areas responsible for these functions, in a parsimonious way. No other research I've encountered is anywhere near as convincing. I post because on almost every video and article about the brain and consciousness that I encounter, the attitude seems to be that we still know next to nothing about how the brain and consciousness work; that there's lots of data but no unifying theory. I believe the extended TNGS is that theory. My motivation is to keep that theory in front of the public. And obviously, I consider it the route to a truly conscious machine, primary and higher-order. My advice to people who want to create a conscious machine is to seriously ground themselves in the extended TNGS and the Darwin automata first, and proceed from there, by applying to Jeff Krichmar's lab at UC Irvine, possibly. Dr. Edelman's roadmap to a conscious machine is at arxiv.org/abs/2105.10461

Great content, where can I find more?
Thanks alot
I'm sitting down in this video because the DDD Perth committee did an awesome job of coping with our "snap lockdown" system in Perth at the time. Well before the conference, they recorded all these videos and had a complete online alternative conference platform ready to go up until the evening before. I'm not as animated here as on stage but it removed some pressure. (and added pressure to finalise the presentation 3 weeks early!).
Thank you Jason! amazing explanation and perfect sample project.
Welcome to youtube
Great Job 👌
Rive?
Rive is a proprietary system. I'm impressed with it but don't think they have Lottie export. They have their own JSON format.
This was very helpful, thank you Jason!
An excellent talk! Thanks for sharing Andy :)
marvelous!
Great presentation. I've looked at model based testing 10 years ago at Vix, and I'm disappointed it hasn't taken off more since then. I do think that Ben minimises how much effort (as well as skill and experience) it takes to build good models. It might be a good way to go if automating a new UI from the start, but try and automate an existing complex system and you've got your work cut out for you.

Thanks Hayley and DDD for making and sharing this! A quick note on paint pigment, there's not a lot of natural blue things on earth that can create pigments for blue paints - so blues have different undertones - pthalo is blue green, ultramarine is blue violet etc. This is why your colours didn't quite turn out how you expected with paint.
Fantastic!! So well thought out. You should be so proud, really appreciate the thought you out into this!
Finally, someone explained to me in simple English what typescript is. Thanks for sharing
Hi! I enjoyed this so much! I have been trying to look for vid similar to yours that informs the ideas in this video!Your breakdown actually is like the channel of Doctor Ethan. Doctor's videos are for sure helpful and he actually helped me a lot on finals. He is an insightful Doctor in the UK and he talks about medical school. I recommend you see his YT out and give the Dr a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthanQuestions
Sound too low:(
For anyone who wonders at the apparently tiny audience, there were more people not sitting in front of the camera. Also, I was up against one of the heaviest-hitters of the conference in a parallel track :-(

I mention how annoying echo is in this talk. Ironically, every time I walk back to the lectern you can hear an echo from having multiple microphones.
