Smith Wesson 629 vs Ruger Super Red Hawk
Nice. You have a 30 inch CX there. The new ones are 60/40 POI. Not sure if the older ones were the same.
The 44 special is a great cartridge. I guess my big question is, if you have a 29 smith 44 magnum why not load down 44 magnum ammo to 44 special loads???
My 336 35 is smooth
I remember you from years ago you still live in NY ? I moved out of the Jersey Shore to NC a free state for awhile hopefully. be well MB ..
Save a lot of time and get a hand primer.
Always check the case length. .357 does stretch after only a couple reloadings depending on the load. It can be very important to prevent high pressure to have the case the correct length.
The worst part of reloading is case prep. Once case prep is done loading it is easy. I always have to say to beginners you don't have to polish the brass. Make sure it is clean but no more is really necessary. Tarnished brass shoots just as well as polished brass. I've even spoken to reloaders that say polishing thins the brass over just a few times. The best advice I can give a new loader is, get a good reloading manual and read it. Then read it again.
Nowadays, thanks to the Democrats those things are going for around $1400.
The super Redhawk was made so that you could fire super hot loads through them with a 460 grain bullet for dangerous game on teen. You can still hunt dangerous game with a Smith and Wesson. But you can’t fire the big loads do them like you can the Ruger.
Generally, the heavier gun has less recoil than the light one. It’s always that way.
I would say, the Ruger is just as finally machined as the Smith and Wesson.
They’re both equally top-of-the-line revolvers. Some people will prefer the Smith and Wesson. Because it’s a lot lighter. Easier to carry. Me I’m a Ruger fan. So I prefer the heavier revolver. And you can fire a lot heavier loads through them,
Good comparison video!
I got my 10 loaded with hydroshock like dude said dont be a rookie cuz you will feel the power so shoot safe
My first gun was the smith 1006 and its a great gun but you can tell you got a cannon on waist so this is perfect anybody that dont know about 10mm u need one you will love it
I have same gun and so far, not reliable. I also bought it for camping and hiking but don't trust it right now to do the job. Will have to stick to my Ruger GP100 for outdoor activities for now. Fail to feed every few rounds. Had two squib incident on two different occassions after only about 50 rounds with two different brand of ammo (Sig and Grizzly). Is it the gun or ammo? Dunno. Yes, still new, break-in period, etc.....Recently, l changed the grip to slim grip to get a better grip, changed kimber 18.5# recoil spring to wilson combat 22#, and polised the ramp, etc. Last range, better results. Three mags with only one FTF using Ammo Inc. 180gr FMJ. I will continue to break it in and see what happens.
I own the same gun, it is unreliable and now just a blinking gun. Save your money and get something reliable.
I like to de-cap my brass then wet pin wash the cases, resize, prime, expand; then add powder, bullet seat and crimp inspecting cases throughout the process. I noticed your press moves a lot when actuating the handle. Does that bother you?
i just bought mine for 1000
Big Ed! I haven't seen one of these since high school. Hope your doing well.
Good on you for keeping it in your family and getting it fixed up! They sell parts directly, and I bet if you ever lose or break a part they'll take good care of you. They really stand behind their guns, saw a video of their factory, and it had a little museum, and one gun was a burned revolver that a guys house burned down and he sent it in thinking hed have to buy a new one, and they sent him a brand new one free! Great folks trying their best to make the best revolvers they can with good reliability at lowest price they can 🇺🇸👍👍
I prefer the horizontal. It gives faster and better access to the weapon. I've had a Miami Classic for over 30 years and it is still in great condition and used regularly.
I found a smith and Wesson 1000p currently have it on layaway and found out that they’re an older gun
At 0:27, i could hear Keith Jackson yelling... "FUM-BUUUUUHL!"
Why do 110 grain Super Vel seem to kick harder? For me at least
I’ve run these out of my Ruger Blackhawk with 4 5/8 barrel. This is an excellent camping/hiking load!
No follow up shots required🥃😎👌
hi Ed - great video thanks a lot for sharing. 9 years later it's still a hit! i was wondering what you do with the grain markings after shooting the rounds ... do you keep track of your MOAs/groupings for each grain count to determine the best performance on your rifle over time? or what else do you use this for? thanks again :) great informative video
I had the same issue with my 10 when I first bought it it would not battery one out of every mag you had to help it started listening and reading pretty much it was 7 to 800 rounds for break-in I mean the gun was tight and true to form ride around 800 round she started cycling by 900 no problem up to 3,000 rounds not a single problem one thing I'm impressed with there was absolutely never one time did it stovepipe I was impressed I really love the pistol but it is a man's pistol you have to hang on to it my son can't shoot it it will not cycle for a little arm it's a man's gun you have to hold it like a man other than that I think it's an excellent pistol
Great shooting! I love my 19 gen 3
The 2-1/2” barrel was a special order proposition for the FBI. The standard snub nose length was 2”. First introduced in the 1930’s. Discontinued in the 1990’s.
I have a question I thought this scope has no zero stop?
Basically 41 mag ballistics
I have the S&W MP 40, with the 9mm extended barrel in it. I just love that this one pistol can be changed out so quickly to try different ammo.
Excellent ,insightful review! Have you ever fired the Ruger Redhawk 7.5 inch? I prefer the Ruger Redhawk Hunter over the Ruger Super Redhawk. Reason being the grip and balance for me the Redhawk is a better fit than the Super Red Hawk. I also like the S&W M29 especially with the 8/38 inch barrel. The 41 Magnum in Redhawk 7.5 and S&W 57 in 6 and 8 3/8 inch barrel lengths are also an excellent choice for hunting handguns. It would be good for Ruger to offer 8 and 8.25 inch barrel revolvers. BTW, yes indeed, Lithuanian girls are some hot magnums!
My RCBS sizi g decapping fails correctly size. What am i overlooking. Tried different depths with decapping. Still it fails to move the cartridge walls to preshooting. Can a sizer die get messed up ?
Looks even better with the polished hammer and trigger👍
Ruger Revolvers are TANKS!! Great video!
I have the same gun in 30-06 and I had to work on the barrel channel in the stock to make it free floating the right way I was getting 2-1/2 inch groups until I did that I haven't been able to shoot it yet after to see if it's better
Both of my kimbers .45 and 10mm are problematic. I'll never rely on them for self defense.
The internet lies to much When stopping a bear it’s preferred to have minimum of .40 cal, 200 grains, & 1000fps. (444 ft# energy) Also internet never use 0.357 magnum Buffalo bore: 180 grain & 1400 fps (783 ft#) Internet biden voters: would you risk your life with a 357?
This is not a carry piece in my opinion but it’s a great gun for a bad situation. If I was anywhere where there might be more dangerous game I would feel very confident knowing this is within my reach. I enjoyed the video. Well done sir.
Lol now people are asking minimum $700CAD
Why don't you seat and crimp in one operation?
Great Video brother! I am new to 44mag/SPL and just soaking up info. I agree, I still use a small amount of lube even with my carbide 44 dies as well. Nice video!
i have this same one and i love it.
What's the web site

That modern lock feature is no where near gross, or smelly enough to be called a 'Hillary hole'!
