Rather than building one tactic for everything I have a positive and cautious variation of it. I switch over depending on how the game is going in the match engine. As far as the formation and role, I build it based on the players I have. This way it is balanced to the team. Start with as few team instructions as you need the add or subtract depending on what you see.

What skin is this?

I like using it to look at where the opposition play-makers are and focus on trying to prevent them from having an impact on the game. I also look a the scout report for any noticeable strengths/weaknesses in case there is something I can focus on.

Crazy how most players have never used the data hub and data chalkboard before! How can you not get baited into analyzing your own tactics! So much fun. Good vid. 👍

I rarely use the data hub though I have used once or twice for set pieces

I've got some notes so the tactic is less "gamey" and reflexts more on real life. Lamine Yamal had the 4th most attemps and the 6th most attempts at target. Either have the shoot more often on an inverted winger or use an inside forward. I'd also put Fabián Ruiz on a bbm he was not really making any plays happens but he had the most kms covered in Spain's team. And Rodri maybe not a Defensive playmaker but a Supporting DM. Both defenders could be BPD since both Le Normand, Laporte and Nacho made the same or more dribbles as Morata for example. And Morata maybe as a Pressing Forward with Get Stuck in since he had both the most succesful tackles and fouls. DLF doesn't really fit imo since he had the same passes than the injured Pedri.

I'm TERRIBLE at buying players that are good at pens. Forget every time so a pen shootout is as good as getting knocked out for me lol.

You have to remember that media description is only as good as your scouts. If you have world class scouts, you get to often have reliable descriptions of these players' CA and PA.

That FM12 UI looks absolutely fantastic. Sports Interactive needs to go back to this. I only began to play from FM14 after that UI had been redesigned.

Great video but you're not entirely correct about the wonderkids description. As I've mentioned in my FM24 wonderkids list, the media description label is determined by a minimum CA and minimum World reputation. So for instance, a player might have 135 in CA but PA 136 and still be labelled as a wonderkid. The media description will change once he turns 21. So to get enough reputation to become a wonderkid, you are partly right that he must get older than 16-17 or so, but first and foremost they must have gained CA and Reputation

If they have Haaland 6ft4.... Stop crossed will try avoid letting them put crossed in. Where as if they have a 5ft5 striker you'd allow them to cross more cos they are just tossing the ball into ur defenders

I get you but what it means is they will try to avoid getting into a situation where the opponent can cross the ball into the box. So they’re avoiding having to defend against crosses. You get what I’m trying to say?

I feel that the match engine goes against your team when you're playing away. I observed this trend since FM 17 till date Your shots hit the woodwork multiple times, your players don't know how to pass, finish or defend in away games😅 The M.E literally favours the home team at your detriment
