The solution to division is submission to Christ. I've studied the Fathers and the history of the Roman Church. I'm still not convinced. However, your videos are excellent and if my non-Christian family members would become Roman Catholics, I'd be delighted. I still can't accept many of the teachings of the Church of Rome. I tried to wrap my head around converting for about a decade. It would take too long here to explain the reasons why I did not convert. Blessings to you.

Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That's it. That's all. As a Protestant, I have a strategy for you: 1. Drop the pope 2. Stop requiring Catholics to believe things that are nowhere in the Bible or worse-contrary to it 3. Stop praying to people other than God 4. Try to actually understand Protestants (which would require you to LISTEN) But y’all won’t do those things. You’ll continue to… 1. Lie about what the Catholic Church officially teaches 2. Refuse to listen 3. Beg the question 4. Lie about the fact that Catholics are far from united 5. Do mental gymnastics to get to the position the guy in the funny hat told you you had to believe

So all 3 of your points are ridiculous. No Protestant believes in an invisible church, Christianity as a whole is the church of Christ, not any one denomination like Catholicism. I’m Protestant and never ever heard Protestants say the church is invisible. Clear straw man. Second point scripture is obvious I don’t need a pope interpreting it for me or we end up worshiping Mary or praying to saints that can’t hear us in heaven. You act as if once in heaven they become omniscient and are able to hear millions of prays. God cares enough for us to give us scripture and made everyone smart enough to interpret it correctly. Either way for Catholics or Protestants scripture is number one, that can’t be argued. Third early church fathers made the canon of the Bible which was established around the first century that’s how all Christian’s know proper cannon. So all 3 points are faulty. When it comes to your comments on James the verse is obvious we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, that’s salvation, but one who truly loves God will mirror his actions and good works will abound. It’s not what gives us salvation but the fruits of our love. Lastly the Catholic Church did not officially form until 560 ad. The original churches were the lead church in Judea lead by James the brother of Jesus and from that was Eastern Orthodox, oriental, Ethiopian, and what would later be Catholicism. Not only that Paul’s letters prove there were many denominations that he talked to in order to straighten out core doctrine. They all had different traditions, which Paul said did not matter, just core doctrine. Those core doctrine are Christ is God who became man part of the trinity that died for our sins then physically resurrected for the forgiveness of sins and will come again. If we accept him as lord and savior we are saved. That is the core doctrine of Christianity. Which means Catholics are just one denomination of Christianity along with the various Protestant denominations, orthodox, and so on. I don’t want to confuse anyone as Mormons, JW’s, progressives, Unitarians, Muslims all do not hold to core doctrines so are not Christian. Otherwise all other denominations only have minor differences and all are the body of Christ. You see my friend you actually worship Catholicism more than Christ. It’s not the one true faith Christianity is the one true faith. Calling Catholicism the one true faith is nonsense. Oh and Peter was not the rock of the church the way Peter accepted Jesus as God through the Holy Spirit is the rock of the church.

@@CameronRiecker There's no such thing as partly Christian. There IS partly practicing, partly serious. I have no problem with the wanting someone to experience the fullness or richness [or however is best to put it] of Christian living. Taking care not to "remove the crowns from the heads of people who are in Christ" is important. Causing others to stumble and such. And my interpretation of Vat. II has been informed by years of study with Cistercian clergy who are working at better catechesis and grace for Catholics.

I had only ever met one Protestant in real life and he is still a close and cherished friend. We share the love we have for Jesus with each other and it never occurred to either of us to convert each other. It wasn’t until I started watching CZcams faith focussed videos that I came across the shocking and visceral hate that some “religions” espouse. I see it in the comments to all your videos. 1 John 5:11-13. Certainty. Grace, through faith, which is also evidenced by walking in the works he's prepared for us (Eph 2:8-10). The Book of Hebrews, read as a whole, in context, helps a lot as well. One does not have to become Catholic to know that one is walking in his grace, and to have certainty that we have peace with Christ. That first passage listed says, "that you may *know.*" That said, blessings to you, Brother. As to clerics, that's a different set of factors. There is a strong emphasis among many Protestant churches on a life given to Evangelistic service. Thus, our clerics look like pastors, pastor's wives, missionaries, and other full- and part-time ministers of the gospel. Sometimes I think that I would like to live my life given completely over to prayer and worship and study. But that is not the call of God on my life in this season (here on Earth). He has called me to go, to share, to minister, to teach, to bring his healing touch. It's contant sacrifice in a different way than the sacrifices made by Catholic clerics. Nor do I see Catholics and Protestants in competition or in a necessary conflict. The different denominations were once described together as a ship made of different parts. There is the rudder, the sails, the galley, and so forth, each performing a different yet contributive function to the whole. We serve one God, in Christ Jesus, as part of his one Body. Again, blessings to you.

The vast majority of Protestant churches have an ecclesiastical structure. We just don’t believe that the leaders are infallible. This is another strawman. You can argue that we don’t have the authority to establish ecclesiastical leadership. That’s a different argument, but to say we just like randomly organize ourselves and interpret the Bible we want is just not true there’s rigorous debate and a process called Jesus and systematic theological study of scripture. It’s not just it’s whatever you feel. Again, you can say that we don’t have the authority to do that that’s fine but you’re not presenting the protestant system correctly.

Humble? He throws straw man fallacies like grenades and has arguments that are so stretched they would make a rubber band blush. His entire argument "destroying the protestants" was saying they had to believe that Jesus didn't care what their beliefs were. The reality of it couldn't be more opposed. Seriously, even if you don't agree with Sola Scriptura, one tiny look would show how insane his take is! Protestants truly focus on holy scripture as the sole authority for doctrine. You know, THOSE Holy Scriptures? The Bible? The Word of God? The teachings of Jesus Christ himself? It's pretty clear and fairly blunt, actually. Yea this dude is trying to say protestants DON'T practice Sola Scriptura, yet has a problem with them because he believes they DO practice Sola Scriptura. Also, for some strange reason, he has never answered me if he accepts Jesus as his perfect, all-sufficient savior. For someone claiming to be Christian, that is quite the question to dodge.

I'm only 1:05 in, but you're already starting from wrong. Not all Protestants believe in Sola Scriptura, or any of the Soli, in fact, MOST Protestants do not subscribe to Sola Scriptura.

So, the whole video is based on your wrong understanding of how Protestantism works. What a surprise. How about trying to show why Protestants would gain anything by submitting to Rome, rather than trying to dunk with faulty knowledge.

Yes BUT Jesus used the example of 2 perfect who he thought had perfect faith and were most definitely saved otherwise he wouldn’t have used them as examples. Naaman the leper and the widow of zeraphath. BOTH were not Jews and BOTH had zero connection to Israel and its Law. They’re in heaven because they believed in no other God but the God of Israel

What do you say when someone brings up the ongoing Catholic church abuse crisis ???

    • @southernlady1109

It’s not an ongoing crisis as it’s been dealt with. Unfortunately, pedophilia & sexual abuse of others has infiltrated all aspects of society. Do you really think satan would not try to destroy Gods Only One True Apostolic Catholic Church? Judging Gods Church by the actions of a few is like judging the ocean by a few waves. We are far greater than that, we are The Bride of Jesus Christ, His One True Catholic Church!

The fact that it’s literally worse everywhere else.
