No load above lol there’s no load being transferred. The Joists above in the ceiling are carrying the load.

Loved watching this in fast motion, makes it a nice short video! Question about three area above the door. Do you typically just throw the middle vertical 2x4 center of the door? Or 16" from one side? I guess if it's a 32 inch door it works the same but for say a 28" door what's the right practice?

I did this and it works. Can’t hear anything and completely air tight too. I left my salad on my desk for three days and it stayed fresh with my door closed.

Take off the foam?
You need to get one less thick. I don't recommend getting these unless you really want the sound to be kept in. These make it harder for you to close your door and its hard to find the right size. My door has a rubber one and I have to put quiet a bit of strength into closing my door now but its worth it since the seal is really good

How did you know how far apart to put them? Did the 2x6’s on the ground already have markings for where they go?
You have to know the measurements for your door, also take into account the jamb. Then space your studs accordingly.
Always rough in 2 inches bigger than your door. If your door is 32 inches rough in a 34 inch frame. It honestly doesn't hurt to even go a bit bigger. Just don't go so big you can't shim it.

@@scoobysnacc2292 I used to have these, I learned that you have to measure the gap between your door and then get the right weatherseal for it, I had all these foam ones that made my door sound all sticky and eventually i stook with pure rubber seal
