I am an original generation KISS fan (since 1976) and a new generation X fan (since 2021)...and while I have seen this clip many times, I am revisiting it here on 12/20/22 which just happens to be Peter Criss' birthday...it was his original vocal that made this KISS song iconic, and I think both Toshi and hide did it proud - understandable pronunciation issues aside. It is amazing how hide's vocals evolved from this performance, especially if one compares Frozen Bug or Lemoned I Scream from his solo efforts (English lyrics but you really cannot understand a word he's saying) to songs like Psyche or Easy Jesus from the Zilch project, where his pronunciation is beautiful! I am also thinking how funny it is that hide's and Peter's birthdays are exactly one week apart (hide on Dec 13 and Peter on Dec 20), and in assorted 1998 footage from Los Angeles, hide is wearing a Peter Criss solo album cover art t-shirt (albeit embellished with the word “FUCT”). Rest in peace, dearest hide....the world hears you. ❤❤

The first time I heard this I was in tears...uncontrollably crying. To hear a band that you discovered as a young man cover a song that you loved from your childhood is too moving for words. I am so glad that in my lifetime I did get to see both Kiss and X live in concert. But as soon as I find out how to time travel I'll go first to see the Asylum tour and then jump to the Tokyo dome in 92 for On The Verge of Destruction Tour.
