Such a sick goal
Bring back the goal horn
As my cousin put it years ago, "Datsyuk was playing a whole other game". Also, "Datsyuk was playing 4D chess while everyone else was playing checkers".
I always kinda felt bad for Turco. 5-2 with :30 and Magic Man does him dirty
Awesome. Wish the French media wasn't so disrespectful towards him.
I had a 2-team parlay on this day. Part 1 was the Lakers - they easily won. Tampa was Part 2. I WAS DYING watching this game. When St. Louis scored I screamed as loud as I ever have. I will never forget this play rom April 20, 2003
Pavel Datsyuk IS top 10 most talented players to ever play in the NHL. In my personal opinion I say top 5.
I could watch that pass all day. Tho I’d like to think I remember it vividly because I watched it live. Truly, a moment of greatness.
However, I’d like to point out that the 1st view, the original center ice camera view, almost MISSED IT! That’s how good it was because the camera operator was zoomed in a bit too close and could not have anticipated that pass.
Never gets old!!
they’ll never be another like him as far as a backchecker or puck control simply amazing to watch all them years ago! 🤷♂️😊👍
What a moment , I will never forget his day . Go habs go
The way he turns with his left skate is virtually impossible; that's probably why Turco thought the puck would never go there
That's the part I had to watch a few times. The ability to turn like that while your weight is trying to go straight and your other leg is off the ice. Wow
If you get that response in Montreal from French Canadians, you know, that you are loved...
This is why im a die hard habs fan , What a great moment . Go habs go
As a Finn i get tiers every time I watch this... It's crazy how much respect and love Koivu had in Montreal ❤️🤍💙
Jack Edwards is a good announcer. Especially when he did ESPN
To this day, arguably the biggest undressing of an NHL goalie I've ever seen.
was diagnosd with cancer in 2001,i was 4,watched this moment with my family cancer free the next year, tearing up a lot right now
as a leaf fan...i had goose bumps on that evening watching this...and once again just now 22 yrs after...what a man on and off the ice...and a ninja fighting cancer...every one's hero and a prime example of a humble individual...many respects SAKU!!!!
22 years later and I still get goosebumps.
SAKU WAS MUCH BETTER PLAYER THAN HIS BROTHER
SAKU WAS MUCH BETTER PLAYER THAN HIS BORTHER
The habs have the best fans hands down
One of the finest NHL stories of all time, not only because I'm Finnish, not only because Saku beat cancer and came back to play and raised hell, but because of the fans who were amazing. He is one of our national treasures, any Habs fan is a friend of mine.
Any Finn is a friend of us
This might be the greatest non-goal or win hockey moment of all time. Even as a leafs fan i get chills down my spine when saku steps on the ice.
The greatest sports fans, congratulations to Saku Koivu for winning the battle against cancer something we don't see often.
Как он это сделал? Какая же крутая эстетика
Not one person with their stupid ass phone out... Miss those days.
make phones great again, ban camera's on phones. That would solve a lot of problems, it would anger the slaves but who cares.
I think it was close to midnight when Henrik scored the goal
This night we all beat cancer
I'm watching this 20 years later and I'm still in awe
hear hear
Absolutely.
That's Larry Murphy on color commentary there, not Mickey Redmond. (The other one of Datsyuk doing this-in the shootout?-does have Redmond on it, with the iconic line "He had him out on Fourth Street!" or something similar.)
put that in your pipe and smoke it
I dont miss these Ottawa jerseys tbh
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
On l’aimais tu notre Saku!!!
Montreal fans are so nice and so loving. I met some canadians in Thailand that year. When it occured that I was from Finland and I was a hockey fan we became friends immediately
Could you post the other goals you haven't posed from this game? Or just post the game?
Unfortunately all I have is the goals I have posted. During the pandemic NBCSN aired a few old games but they were edited down to like 60-70 minutes of action. Why they chose a 4OT game for one of those games I have no idea. The edit they did started in the middle of the third period, followed by a few minutes of each overtime period. I didn't bother recording the game since well over half the action and goals were edited out. I just recorded the goals they showed and posted them since HD highlights from 2007 are hard to come by.
I miss the old goal horn.
Same
They should have used it when they played with those retro jerseys last year
Too many teams changed great goal horns to the point where most of them sound the same.
Except Turco played 9 more years. Who needs facts.
First Finnish born C - Captain of any NHL / LNH - Team ! This moment was - Surely was noticed at the other side of Atlantic too ! Merci - Kiitos - Thank You
if it was a guy from the other team the mtl fans would boo. that's who they are.
What a stupid comment haha!
Patrice Bergeron, the "youngest player in the NHL"...wow I'm old
It looks like Datsyuk was an NPC that spawned at the Dallas blueline. It also looks like Turco was goaltending after a 48 hour Vegas bender lol
Bruh😂😂😂 this comment got me rollin But fr the way Turco just fell on his arse it really does look like he’s had a few too many😂😂
That level of adoration and respect, very few men will experience in their lifetime.
❤
LOL Turco was the goalie in both this game and the one against Ducks that went to 5 OT.
Jizzy
I was at this game and still get goosebumps watching this…
i'm an oilers fan and i really don't like the habs, but... wow. just wow. incredible reception and incredible grit from koivu.
