I've seen most people dislike the sound of a ticking clock because it's annoying to them, and I'm sure a friend told me that the sound of a clock effects your heart beat just like music does which causes sleeping harder, but then here's me who finds it extremely comforting. It reminds me of one of my grandparents' homes, especially my gran and gramps as I'd often wake up first in the morning so the house was quiet and wandering through out you'd just hear the gentle ticking of the clocks around the place.
