Agreed that they are good at fuel economy (I run an Excel one on Bridgestone 205/45R17 83W tyres), but the most economical car I had in the past was an old Honda Civic Mk 9 diesel, on Michelin Primacy low drag ones, which made it squeeze just under the road tax zero band in those days. Every year I had to declare that I wasn’t paying anything! It had a 50l tank, so with a range of almost 700 miles, it was almost never refueled away from my local supermarket. Incidentally, around 9:30 the display exhibits the snag of speed limit detection by camera - 60 mph in that car park is optimistic!

In the last 21 days I drove 331 miles ( Mostly Town driving ) My bill was 24.49 liters @ £1.39 per liter £34.02 Which is about 13 miles per litre Or 61 MPG Not bad for stop/start inner city driving 😎 Let us know the results of the MRI Hope Marg gets sorted soon 👍🤸

A good demo as to why it’s not possible to do the test that is required for other types of engine! While I’m not advertising, all they could do would be to require cars to have built-in measurement kit, record the results, and hand the output over to the STASI, or whatever.

Hi Paul + Margret, it's a long drive to Cardiff, especially going there and back in the same day and it not the best of roads as most of it is single carriageway once you leave Wrexham. I've done this drive quite a few times from Wrexham to Cardiff for the rugby at the Principality Stadium. I hope the consultation went well, the Spire hospital's are good was Cardiff the only one you can get for this appointment I think there Spire hospital in Abergele by the Tesco and there is a Spire on Croesnewydd Road in Wrexham by the Maelor hospital, my brother had an operation there last November. Keep us up to date with your Margret's treatment and I wish her a very speedy recovery. Take care both

Toyota cares only about this little things. Then 2 2024 corollas caught on fire and Toyota refuses to refund the owners. It’s really going down customer care wise, and it’s a shame… in fact, from June Toyota lost 20% of its stock value (the cars caught on fire in June).

Indeed they are a nightmare. The wasps entered my home via the eaves of the roof but made a nest inside the loft. They entered my home and I got stung twice by the blighters. In the end I got a pro to get rid of them. He told me to leave the nest in the loft as they won’t come back. You have my total sympathy.

So right. Big companies scam us in so many ways. Please everyone just try to shop around and do your best to gain value where you can. This planet is devaluing us at every opportunity. If you don't use their loyalty schemes (especially Sainsbury), you can pay up to, 40, 50, 60% more! These advertising tactics are used for blatant profiteering.

Hi Paul, yes I've notice this a few times in Asda and Tesco in Wrexham, I've seen biscuits at 80p and then for a few days go up to 95p and say there is a price drop to 90p, same with cheese spread you can by a 200g for £2.50 or 100g for a £1 it's a no brainer another I've spotted in Home Bargains in the Gwersyllt store on the one in the middle of Wrexham, was the Rocky chocolate biscuits at the moment a 7 pack is 79p or a 5 pack for 69p, you just got to watch out, take care and don't be coned

I had the same problem on my 73 reg yaris and the AA man recommended their solar panel charger which plugs into the Eob socket. I'll let you know how I get on with this trickle charger once delivered from amazon.

Hi Paul - what a brilliant tip to keep the 12 volt battery charged up for low use driving. This is exactly what our sales rep told us to do when picking up our new Yaris design last March by switching on the air con whilst in ready mode during park up period. By doing this method at least once a week keeps me out of battery trouble. Every Yaris driver should know this. Thanks Paul.
