I 25 år har Farmers Market gledet oss med sitt balkaninspirerte brygg. Her snakker vi om et liveband i særklasse, som leverer en hemningsløs gitarbasert rytmisk-melodisk overskuddsorige. 2016 markerer bandets musikalske sølvbryllup og vi gleder oss til fest, feiring og fandenivoldsk ansiennitet i Hamar kulturhus.

For 25 år siden ble det inngått en rytmisk pakt som ble banket inn med ujevne slag i kjellerrommene ved Trøndelag musikkonservatorium og bandet Farmers Market var et faktum.
Med nikk til både progrock, sigøynertradisjoner, orkestermusikk, country, 70-talls filmmusikk og en god dose humor, har Trondheimbanden blitt en av Norges mest populære liveband. De fem middelklassegutta har under store deler av lydgildet blant annet alliert seg med musikalske artsfrender/våpendragere fra høykastene i India,lavslettene i Trøndelag, Romfolk fra Bulgaria og Bon'folk fra Fræna. Dette har resultert i flere Spellemannpriser, et aldeles utsøkt knippe auditive nytelser og turnéer over store deler av Moder Jord.
Nå er bandet klare for sølvbryllupsfeiring, med dertil tilhørende omflakkende musikalsk virksomhet basert på det siste kvarte århundrets viderverdigheter. I tillegg til å øse ut av sitt sammensatte arkiv med raus hånd, vil bandet denne kvelden presentere nye melodisk-rytmisk rariteter og fremtidige favoritter.
Vi ønsker velkommen til en kveld med skjær spilleglede og fandenivoldsk ansiennitet.

Sure, brecker is here and thats nice. But if you know this band's music, you'll hear immediately that they have kinda dumbed their music down significantly here. Normally, Stian is straight ahead Balkan virtuosity.

No, it's a whole different story. I was at a Faith No More concert here in Berlin a couple of years ago and Farmers Market were the supporting band. I didn't know anything about them before that. And about 30 seconds into the first song I was like 'wait a second... isn't this...?'. It was quite a surprise to hear Bulgarian folk music at this time and place. I loved it how they mixed it with other stuff. And the humor in it. And this is how I got hooked :-)
No, no, I see plenty of cars, but I find it unusual that the driver did not have to overtake any cars or other vehicles… Where I come from (Bulgaria) there would inevitably have been some old trucks or at least a couple of horse- or donkey-drawn carriages (probably operated by gypsies) in the way… Kinda pain in the ass.
When Frank Zappa signed out in the early 90s, Farmers Market signed in!
