Things Have Changed
This is Bob Dylan's beautiful, award-winning song, "Things Have Changed", finally presented at the correct tempo. I've adjusted it to -5% of its original beat. I've always thought that the original recording was made at far too hurried a tempo, for the words that he sings. These words need those few percent of slow-down to sink in, I think; and so, I've paced it here to work well for this lovely song, so that you can catch the exquisite experience of them in the proper time frame, before it all disappears too quickly in front of your eyes and ears forever.

FM -- Phasors On Stun (album: Black Noise)

All analog record unduplicatable today with today's recording technology. The sound of this song, as with the rest of the Black Noise album, is singular. Even Kraftwerk doesn't quite approach it; maybe Todd Rundgren grazes it slightly. But these fellows from Toronto in the late 1970s were so committed and talented and inspired and electronically adept, that this album is a moment in time with n...
Karel Kryl -- Morituri Te Salutant (Those Who Are About To Die Salute You) -- English Lyrics

I heard this song (the Latin title meaning "Those Who Are About To Die Salute You") when I was about 5 years old; my father played it at home quite often, wherever home was in those years as he planned for us to escape after the invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, and settle where communism couldn't reach us. It is a difficult song to translate, because it is really a sophisticated poem, replet...

Slovak Folk Music by folk group Vajana - “Tota Helpa”

The song (two, actually) are from a classic CD of Slovak folk songs performed by a group named Vajana. The title of the CD means "Let's sing, girls". The main song refers to a town in Slovakia called "Helpa" (nothing to do with the English word "help"). The title means, "Oh, that Helpa town". At 2:23, the song is followed by a very short 2nd song called, "If I Knew It Was Sunday, I would Have D...

My Irish mates in Japan had never heard this and major Van the Man fans.
This one takes me back to better times
My favorite of all his songs.
One of my favorites.
Takes me back to being a kid living on a farm and my mother playing this album All. The. Time. So great. Still one of my favorites by Van, along with St Dominic’s Preview & And it Stoned Me. Just a magnificent song. It really picked up the disco vibe of 1979 without being disco at all.
