May I ask if you should start with skills or buy heroes first
I suggest level max all skills (but not to ascend) first, then buy all heroes. Finally ascend all your skills to 3 stars

@0:47 what buffs do you get with second ascension? I got all my skills to lvl 20, then I didn’t fully understand what would happen to those buffs and I clicked ASCEND on all 8. Now I can’t even move. Lol. Im on timeline 102, quantum age, with all skills lvl 1 to 4. And unlike most others you can build up your base and eventually overpower them, but these sorcerers reach deep into my base killing everyone lol. The only good news is i got autocomplete zombies and bosses so I just need to wait till I i get stronger or for the next chess or candy event. Lesson learned, only ascend what you can live without or just one primary skills so it gets all the upgrades. I see you only ascended a couple for second ascension. I assume those are your least used. Lol
He has a very low damage and health... Much lower than 2nd hero Why?
Because of the attack speed. The stat doesn't show that

Just keep playing the event
My tips: Play the events Race Events is competitive, and getting top 10 gets you 5%, top 3 gets you 5%, and 1st place 5%. So if you can manage to get 1st place in a race event, you can get 15% from that event, plus another 5% if you complete another event within that week (Space Event for example), totaling you 20%. Even if you can't get to top 3 or 1st place in the race event, if you can try to get top 10, you can get 5%, and another 5% from another event within that week, totaling you 10%. These bonuses increase your damage, health, and base health percentages. Events can also get you gems and can be used to buy cards or to skip missions if you don't feel like waiting. To do missions, you will need heroes, so you will need to collect 300 blue potions to unlock one hero, and there are 9 heroes in total. Some missions can get you red potions for runes, and if the difficulty is extreme, you will have a 45% chance of succeeding. One last way to get red runes is to play the normal game and complete one timeline for one red potion at a time. These are my tips.

If you reach lvl 20 with a skill, you will get a star. You can do it 3x. If I know good, there is a 10% boost with every star.
