*2024 UPDATE!* - Note that I'm still a passionate language teacher, language teacher trainer and pedagogical innovator. However, I've moved my focus to my other CZcams channels which focus more on educational technology: Teach Ahead and Learn Ahead.
There are still LOADS of resources for iTalki and Preply teachers, but these channels focus less on my (Ryan's) individual teaching experiences and more on growing a COMMUNITY of passionate online educators.
So, I still browse comments from time to time, but don't be worried if you see no new uploads or posts. I couldn't be more grateful to the amazing supporters on this channel and I hope to continue growing together, making the difference we wish to see inside and outside of the online classroom.

I appreciate your honesty. I moved to Bogotá from the US found a teaching position after I arrived. I went with an agency as well but no fees were involved. I do have to pay for my visa ($300) but will be reimbursed after 6 months.
What company did you use? I want to teach but save some money.

I don't understand. If preply takes 100% for trial why do different teachers charge so different rate? Some charges $3 and other charges $30.

As a student, the thing i like the most about italki is they verfiy credentials. Preply don't offer this, which is why i have never, and will never use it for as long as it remains that way. There's nothing like getting private tuition from a former examiner for an exam you are taking 😉and on italki i can look for teachers who have a verified certificate confirming they are former examiners for a particular exam.
