With baptism we convent to be obedient to God. That doesn’t mean we have to be perfect instantly, but we have to be humble and willing to strive to be obedient and be quick to repent when we fall short, continually, always. This is what the baptism convent entails. Those who do this are receiving the Savior’s grace and living in it. Consider this poignant quote from Brad Wilcox: “I become more and more convinced that Heaven will not be so much about a group of people banging the on gates crying “let me in, let me in! But it will be about a group of people banging on the gates crying “let me out, let me out!” To experience the life of God, we must live after the righteous manner He lives. If not, it will become burdensome to our souls… and we would not be truly happy.

No. The covenant of baptism is delineated clearly in the Book of Mormon, "..willing to mourn with those who mourn, to bear the burdens of others that they may be light..," etc. It's all about being willing to be like Christ towards each other. At baptism, being a willing saint is the covenant. Then, with the laying on of hands, we are commanded to "Receive the Holy Ghost," which is the only true commandment of membership in the body of Christ. After that, it's "..the Second Comforter.." Who is the only One whom we are to obey in order to enter the Celestial kingdom of God. Don't be confused by anything else than what I'd said at baptism and confirmation of the baptism. What is said is the true covenant. Blessings 🙌

We promised to take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ, always remember Him, keep His commandments, and serve Him to the end. Heavenly Father promised us a remission of sins and, through the ordinance of confirmation, the gift of the Holy Ghost. We renew this covenant each time we partake of the sacrament.” No, a commitment to obedience is required. We are not Protestants. The grace of Jesus Christ saves all of humanity that is willing to be saved. However, being saved in the Kingdom of God, or Celestial Kingdom, requires authoritative baptism and faithfulness to the covenants made thereby. An authoritative baptism is not simply enough- we must be faithful in that covenant. Again, that does not mean instantly perfect. It does mean sincerely striving to honor that covenant before God. 2 Nephi 31:16 “And now, my beloved brethren, I know by this that unless a man shall endure to the end, in following the example of the Son of the living God, he cannot be saved.”

In humility, I affirm that you are making the same mistake as I did before I realized what exactly is that blessing when we renew our baptismal covenant during the Sacrament ordinance on Sundays. We are each being reminded that we were commanded to "Receive the Holy Ghost" at our confirmation of our individual baptismal ordinance. When the vision of the Tree of Life comes to mind from the Book of Mormon sacred stories, that iron rod "..is the word of God.." to each of us individually. It's not the written texts that we read for our enlightenment. It's personal revelation. That's what will safely guide us through the "..mists of darkness.." to "..the tree of life..," which is the symbology of the Resurrected Christ, Himself! When we attune with the correct principles that Joseph Smith Junior taught about, then the reality of the Gospel of Grace of Jesus Christ by the Second Comforter's personal revelations to us manifest in our lives in the vibrational frequencies of Love, Light, and Truth, which are the key principles that reach into Eternity! Beyond that, institutional doctrines and theologies are good for general, global guidance. They exist because General Authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have responsibility for general, global humanity. The only one responsible for each of us baptized and confirmed members of The Body of Christ is ourselves as individuals. This, I know! Blessings 🙌

@@AntonioAFelizJr Now, if you’re talking about personal revelation by the Spirit of God (Holy Ghost) as a necessity, then I can get completely on board with that. Joseph Smith taught that personal revelation is required for salvation. Joseph Smith also taught that revelation is adapted to the circumstances in which we are placed. Having said that, the commandments of God are the commandments of God. Now, I agree with you so far as a pharisaical view of the commandments is not good. We keep the laws of God and strive to keep the laws of God because we genuinely love Him and have faith in Him. We, however, can’t become overly obsessed with the commandments and neglect the spirit behind the commandments. Here is the sacrament prayer: “…they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them.” A commitment to keep (and strive to keep) commandments is right there. Now, does that mean we will be paying tithing forever? No, eventually the Lord will change that command to the higher Law of Consecration (we give everything). Does that mean that we can outright ignore either one when it is the current command at the time? No! How about the command for the word of wisdom? Sexual purity? Honestly? Integrity?… No we are obligated to keep these things. Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” - this is Paul speaking to and exhorting the already baptized believing saints living in Galatia. Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” The “institutional commandments” are extremely important. Can they change? Sure, I provided the example of tithing as one that will. But there are some that will not- like homosexuality (specifically engaging in it). The commandments are based of eternal righteous principles- and we don’t get to pick and choose and expect to dwell with God in perfect righteousness. True, because of and by the grace of Jesus Christ we don’t have to be perfect right now to receive a Celestial inheritance. If we will not strive the keep the commandments however, then by that same grace, there will be another Kingdom of Heaven to dwell adapted to the righteous and holy laws and principle we are able to abide by. Speaking of that, here is what was revealed to Joseph Smith in D&C 88:22-24: “For he who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory. And he who cannot abide the law of a terrestrial kingdom cannot abide a terrestrial glory. And he who cannot abide the law of a telestial kingdom cannot abide a telestial glory; therefore he is not meet for a kingdom of glory. Therefore he must abide a kingdom which is not a kingdom of glory.” Finally, you keep speaking about the Second Comforter. Do you know who that is? It is not the Holy Ghost (He is the first comforter). The Second Comforter is Jesus Christ Himself, and to receive the Second Comforter is to receive a personal visitation from Him whereunto He assures Eternal Life- and then He may also appear to that individual from time to time. Joseph Smith precisely taught this. We must first fully receive the first comforter before we can expect to receive the second. Though we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost at confirmation, we don’t receive of His fullness all at once. The statement “Receive the Holy Ghost” is a command to us to fully receive Him, which happens over time and continued faith/enduring.
