You guys would flip if you tried how we kill suckers in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. We run jet boats with rail around the front deck lights and 14 ft gigs. Nothing beats the excitement of puttering up the river and hitting those big schools of em and sticking em left and right. We killed 49 in just over 3 hours one night. I just don't understand why your releasing all those good fisherman and not eating them.

Good video and catch! Do y'all ever have one to make your line whistle in the water? I love to hear that sound! We mostly catch the Common Sucker here out of our Ogeechee River, here in Georgia. Our Red Horse was thought to be extinct, but they found a few in the river and our Fish and Game Dept. has been raising them at the state's hatchery and restocking the Ogeechee. We eat the fish here. This is how we do it. Scale, clean, and cut up your fish, then you have to cut gashes across the meat, about 1/4 inch apart, to cut up the small bones that is in the meat. On the tail piece you cut down through the skin to the spine, on filet pieces with you slice down through the meat to the skin; careful not to cut through the skin. Salt, pepper if you like, the meat; dip and cover in cornmeal, I prefer white cornmeal, shake off the excess and deep fry. Some folks say that the hot oil goes down into the gashes and dissolves the fine bones. Along with some hush puppies, some coleslaw, and French fries; you will have some good eating. Try it. We have to gash our Chain Pickeral also, their meat is full of small bones.

I caught a couple of these the other day here in southeast michigan, i didn't realize what kind they were at first because they were in their breeding colors, pretty neat fish and they fight pretty good, i was using a black jig with a clear green grubtail.

I Live right next door in Minnesota and enjoy it, we don't see much video's of people cat fishing. y'all would like it over this way take a little trip..... could show y'all some noodling tricks and or other tips and trick to catch cat fish everytime you go out! Oh I almost for got it would make for a good show if y'all would come or invite a person as a guest....
