Road America qualifying in a 1980 Chevy Nova
Here at Road America at one of the largest Vintage events in the country. I am driving an original Gene Felton car that is now owned by Frank Marcum. Gene was a wheel God is his day and I am so fortunate that Frank brought me on board to drive this amazing car.
I had been practicing on old tires and wasn't really sure what I had for qualifying. Over 60 cars in the field and somehow I timed one lap without much traffic. Watch it twice and notice the top speed at the end of the front straight in the beginning of the video. Enjoy the ride!

A quick lap in a 918 Porsche around Palm Beach Int Raceway. What an amazing car to drive! I wasn't even flogging it hard (it's a friends car and I have to be nice) shifting well before the red line, easy on the brakes and it's still amazingly fast!

One of the finest prototypes I've ever driven. The set up was perfect, the weather spectacular, a really fun and challenging circuit. I didn't drive any of the practice sessions all weekend and only got in for the warm up before the race the same afternoon. The car was amazing to drive. It was like wearing the car more than driving it. I wanted that session to never end!

What a perfect line, every corner was taken with absolute speed and precision! Those cars are so amazing! They look and sound so much better than the closed spaceship looking cars they race today! I remember when they where new and how I loved their look in the nineties! Are there even open Prototypes left? It’s a shame you only see cars with a dome these days..
Did I see you tell that Porsche on the front straight he is #1 !! :) Didn't you know that Porsche drivers own the track and they can drive anywhere they want to?
Do you own the car?
Does anyone know where this car is now?
Extrêmement rapide!
One of the more "real" 918 vids on CZcams (meaning not a hyped up review). Great driving!
Nice car, nice track and nice driving!
Haulin' ass
Love this track!!!!
Hi Shane great driving and video all the best to you, Mario Di Leo Silver 996 cup from MGM motorsport
Hah. I just finished running 1:40s in a 458 Challenge at LCMT. Your footage looks like a sped-up video game by comparison. The grip in the high-speed corners... 8-O
Shit, it thoungt this was playground before Formula 1, but i was misttaken..
Great! This is better than a fuck....
Looks like a good time Shane. Good to see another video from you! Cheers buddy.
Just remember, you break it, you buy it!
I'm also Shane Lewis !!!!!
Wow! The acceleration looks brutal in that thing. Thanks for sharing Shane!
with the second lap in the video you just qualified second for the 2014 tudor championship in 8 year old lola
I like it Shane. I like it a lot!
Thanks, great video!
Wow, no chicane version. Looks like 100% commitment was needed for that T1.

Yeah, my bad. :P You can get the point though.
That was some terrific laps - he is leaving the Audi in the dust. What series has LMP1 cars? Or when was this shot? I can;t believe there are so few to witness a true race car making the paces around the Glen
This was at a SVRA vintage and historic sports car weekend. This event wasn't open to the general public as it cost much more money to use the track if it is open to the public. The only people at the event are members of SVRA.
!!!!
What series was this???
Congrats, Shane....looks like a fun ride with a TON of grip.
GO SHANE GO
or the north eastern motosport fans aren't a fan of the sport. I tell you, if i had the funds i would buy most of the tickets and hand them out for free just to get the stands full. such a shame.
Epic.
That Aston has a lot of power, sounds really mean. Fun to ride along on the lap. That is one heck of along lap.
On a more narrow track like this (compared to LeMans) you so see more of the incredible acceleration of this cars. Awesome! Nice driving! Thanks for sharing. Why are the stands so empty?
If you look at the right as he heads down the finish/start straight, there are a few people in the stands there ( I'm probably one of them). Not many spectators attend these events , their loss !
@@Steve-xf4uv not a race, test sessions.
I just got the Oct issue in the mail today and when I saw this was on youtube I had to check it out! Great stuff ! Good article, but even better video. Thanks, Greg
Shane, I just left you a message on your FB account where you can find my phone number on the About page. The info I get about how to mold a wheel for you from this in-car cam is all I need. I did Michael Schumacher's wheel -- when he drove for Benetton -- with a phone interview and two fax'd hand tracings. Overnight the wheel to me, and I'll have it back the next day....good job driving, btw. Reminds me what my Lister could do if it had traction! 650hp/1950 lb ;-)
PersonaGrip lol u need more recognition for your work, I've seen some of it, keep it up man :)
