Move up North, It's more affordable to rent a house or apartment compare to London.

I've been running for a while but will say don't fall into the trap of compensating eating. I think people overestimate how much they burn when running and with time you'll see you do curve your appetite for the same or more amount of running, which is what helps to stay fit.

I've been running for many years, and remember when I was nervous about half marathons. Now I can run a half without training no problem. A full is another story though, you definitely need training for it regardless of how experienced of a runner you are. Keep it up, it gets easier as you go and 9k will become like nothing.
