Yes, I think upgrading to a 90D is a good idea to have almost 2 similar cameras. The difference of resolution in video filming will be unnoticed and this is a very important pro. The other pro is the easier way to deal with settings and functions.

Many people don’t even want to try a camera cage thinking that is useless but the moment you try the first one you understand instantly how useful it is. When I buy a new camera, the first thing is to place an order for a cage 🤣 Great video and yes, the Black Mamba cage is clearly superior :)

I hate the 50 1.4. I've had 2. Very easy to break and the manual focusing is awful. I actually contacted Canon when I got mine in 2011 and asked if it was normal that the manual focusing sounded so grindy and rough. They told me that it was a common question and that my lens was fine. One 3 foot drop on carpet killed it 6 months later. I actually think the EF 1.8 STM is the superior lens of all of these non-L 50s. The EF 1.8 is almost as sharp as the RF 1.8 but it has more versatility between bodies and still works well with video auto-focus. And you can use the EF 1.8 STM with the Canon EF-to-RF Drop-in Variable ND adapter!

I just bought a second hand EF 24-70 f2.8 II which looks like it’s brand new for 700 bucks. 😎

Great video! I've just started filming got a nice little set up. Just waiting on a monitor. My question is when shooting vertical to view my footage when in da Vinci resolve I have to turn my head, or rotate each clip before I can see if I actually want to use that clip or not. Is there a setting on the camera that can put the footage out so I don't have to turn my head, or is it just in post where you need to rotate the footage? Thanks in advance!

I bought the R6 as a long overdue upgrade from the 5D mk II. It promised a world of improvement. It was sensational for stills and a world of frustration for video. I wasted a solid six months trying to understand its logic, its foibles, it’s "can do this but not that" compromises. It became a hot mess of frustration, too many buttons, too much second guessing, too much camera overriding, getting in the way, undermining my choices. I sold it. Bought a cinema camera, it’s a dream to film with. I rarely have wasted footage now. Still use the 5D2 for photographs, it’s still great. But there were things I loved about the R6. Shooting stills from the waste using the flipped out touch screen is a magic style of shooting portraits with all sorts of benefits. It created a defining look to my shots. EF and RF lenses, cool. Low light legend. Same batteries, bonus. The focusing options. Yeah, I miss those. And things I truly disliked about the R6. The IBIS, destroyed more footage than it saved (and you can’t just use a stabilised lens with the IBIS off @#$%^!!!!). Almost the same megapixel sized sensor. The crazy layout and amount of buttons with baffling user logic. The micro HDMI port. Screen too small for filming. Frustrating menus for filming. Trying to do everything with an OS that feels like DOS. The R6 is a genius camera with multiple personality disorder. The EOS R appears to have everything I loved about the R6 and nothing that I disliked. A primary photography camera with 20 years ahead of it. Handy, quality video back up. Massive array of legacy lenses before it. And an old price.

EF is better in every aspect

You can adjust focus setting, how fast you want it to focus on the subject. it has nothing to do with the lens.

RF is 40 to 60% more expensive than the EF !!! Stop fattening Canon !

I currently own a canon r50 (I bought it like three months ago)and feel like it's not good enough for photography, should I replace it with an eos r even though it's 2024 now? I found one on the net and it’s about 32000NTD (988USD) which is a price that a high school student could afford (if I sell my r50)

I can't get passed 2:21. The app on my phone says it's connected to the network, and right below it says "Detects the camera when connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera. And then nothing. I can either go back or close to try and register the camera again. The camera says "Start dedicated app on the smartphone" and shows a single "Cancel" button. I've uninstalled the app on my phone twice (this is my first time using it), and reset the WiFi settings on the camera about 12 times now. Still exactly the same every time. Can someone PLEASE help me get passed this dead end?

My canon are six when fitted with a I think it’s a 34 mm lens, RF lens from Cannon, says that there’s a lens error and won’t let me record. Because of the error.

The RF is less sharp but colours are warmer, i like them more.

Just bought an 80D with a shutter count of 144. It is basically brand new and I am very pleased with it. At this time I cannot justify the expense of upgrading yet.

Splitting hairs on weight and price is a major factor for 100% amateurs. I’m never going to r series staying with old ef series full gram an picked up Fuji mirrowless for 1/4 of cost plus their lense I would say are equivalent in most cases an superior
