Pour Choices
Our classic cars require several different fluids to keep them in running order. However, the containers they come in don’t always make pouring a little more fluid an easy task. Adding brake fluid, automatic transmission fluid, power steering fluid, etc… can be a tricky situation on many classic cars, often resulting in the cleanup of spilled fluids. Fortunately the task of pouring fluids can be made a lot easier with the stuff you already have. Mark Simpson demonstrates how many of the fluid bottles we commonly use share the same size and thread of other bottles.

    Hint. If like me you’re working on your back on a creeper with the vehicle on jack stands,working on an independent suspension. Use a bottle jack and jack the lower control arm up so the tie rod isn’t hanging down then the tool slides right in.

    After just watching another video of using the old scissor jack, the guy showed an adapter that bolts on the end that lets you use a 21mm socket and your impact gun. I ordered a scissor jack and this adapter from Amazon. Should make rotating tires a lot faster.

    • @peterharvey153
      @peterharvey153 Před 28 dny

      However, that scissor jack to 21 mm socket or 1/2 inch drive adaptor takes say 1 minute to fasten to the scissor jack. On the other hand, a simple 1" socket to a motorized impact wrench is much simpler and faster.

    I tie mine with baling wire. I like your deal, but getting the whole set on there from 6mm to 19mm not so likely. Maybe 2 hitch pins.then for vehicles with a mix of metric and inch hardware like my Baja Bug, you need that many more. I get one type in as forged rough surface wrenches and the other in polished wrenches to define which are which.
