I would say 16:42 is questioning who He is to the Father and a suicide appeal. The "showing off" would be death. Jesus also realizes the crucification awaits Him already, and a quick death is more appealing than hours of torture. For anyone considering suicide I recommend the book Life in Spite of Me.
