If you have a fired pottery figurine and it is solid how do you make a mould to replicate it? You need a spout to pour in the slip so thinking about the best way to accomplish this. Any tips?
Why not use oil based clay?
çok faydalı bir kurs izledim. Teşekkürler.

I've watched tons of plaster-use instructional videos and this is my favorite so far. Comprehensive and still to the point.
Thanks!It is wonderful!😊🙏👏👏👏
Incredibly well documented tutorial! Thanks a lot! 🎉

Hello, good time. I am looking for a manufacturer of toilet molds. Can you help me?
Thank you so much for this! I‘m giving my first class for making plaster molds and slip casting this semester. Your video helped me so much to eliminate some of the half-knowledge I have 😅🙏🏻
A well done video!
Thank you That was really detailed explanation After mold preparation ,can I pour liquid clay directly into the mold so that I can get intricate shapes clearly? Will I get a good casting in this method?
Muy interesante, gracias
I agree... best presentation and narrative... sharp and to the point... and best of all...clean cut and professional.. Thanks for sharing
This is THE BEST mold making instructions I've seen on here. Believe me I have watched A LOT!! TYSM! so helpful!😊
Putting wastewater with plaster in it, in the building's drain/waste piping could lead major problems. Place any water with plaster residue in a waste container and then in the trash. Allowing it to dry would be helpful.
Kto cię nauczył takiej roboty, nigdy by mi do głowy nie przyszło aby zrobić taki kształt formy , a tym bardziej tak kombinować z wykonaniem wyrobu z gliny
Can’t one use slip clay instead of clay slabs to arrive at final piece?

THANK YOU so much!!! This has to be one of the best instructional videos that I have ever seen. Just the right pace, just the right detail. Now I am going to try making a mold that I have been thinking about for years. One question: do you have a video on making those 4 adjustable pieces that you used for the sides of the square mold?
Great process for the mold.
How about to make a mold using another mold? Make a copy of a first mold without the object.
Good work
Hey Sam, this is such a useful video thanks so much for sharing. Can i ask what the updated material you now used as shown at 5mins.36 is? any help would be great
Great video!! Thank you very much!
Why use clay that dry? It seems easier to mix clay with water until it's a thick slurry and pour it and let it dry a bit then pour the excess out.
Slip casting
He’s not slip casting, which is what you’re describing. I’m not sure if this technique is called the same thing as in glass working but we would call using this process slumping…because the media “slumps” into the mold. I’ve not seen pottery done like this but I’m a novice. I think most people slip-cast, which is what you describe. Interesting! Ah, he just called it “press molding”.
Thanks. But do we really need to explain the difference between hollow and solid?
what type of clear plastic do you use for the clear flashing? thank you
Great job!!!! Thank you so much!
There is no need to use metric measurements. It's just as easy to do the math with inches and quarts.
Just amazing instruction, and so many great examples.
Excellent video. Thanks
Making the mold round is different. Square would have given the mold a leg to stand on.
He could just flatten a spot to give it a foot.
Writing in white is unreadable on the screen correct it
